Official Nashville Predators Thread

I don't think it's coming back to Pittsburgh at all.

Eh, 2 days off, and having home ice in your first final...I'm expecting a lively crowd, and a predator team that plays with a giant sense of urgency. That said I think y'all winning Saturday night is a must.

If it comes back 2-2, the pressure is all back on us, and as a pred fan, that's what you have cling to.

If we split the next 2... it gets real hard, real fast.

Selfishly, I'm fine with it not coming back to ppg.👍

I don't think any Preds fan is encouraged by this series... we outplay the Pens largely throughout both games and walk away 0-2. I would be surprised if this series reaches 6 games

Well, what reminds me of is when the pens played the red wings in this groups' 1st final. Nothing went right, and Detroit seemed to always be in the right place, right time.

Experience plays a role.

Still, I expect an urgent NAS team Saturday night.

No matter what happens Nashville should enjoy the moment.... I'm sure it'll be on its ear Saturday night.

Took a lot of crap from some of my penguin friends tonight. Hope we bounce back Saturday

The games where Nashville dominates puck possession, scoring chances, shots, and faceoffs, but still loses.

Pittsburgh in 5. Still was a great year and one that people will remember for a long time.

yep. at the end of the 2nd period last night, i didn't see us winning it.

Murray was huge last night, and Malkin, while i know many hate the guy, gave us a good spark. and Guetzel has been ridiculous.

NAS made too many mistakes, got careless with the penalties, and Pitt made the right adjustments in the 3rd.

game 3 is a must win for NAS. that much i know for sure.

Malkin is such a mercurial player. Fits the stereotype of Russian players perfectly.

When he "wants to play," he's one of the best players in the world. Earlier in his career I actually thought he was better/going to be better than Crosby and Ovechkin. He might have more raw athletic talent than both of them. And a well-rounded player too, like Crosby with more size. People forget how big he is (6'3'', 200) because he doesn't always make the most use of his size/speed combo, but he has the puck and stickhandling skills of a smaller, quicker, more nimble guy.

When he doesn't want to play, he's an inconsistent, frustrating player who takes a lot of dumb penalties.

totally agree. sometimes he's just lackadaisical out there, and leaves you scratching your head, other times, he's the best guy on the ice...and sometimes it's not close.

i know this, before this series is over, if we're going to win, Malkin and Crosby are going to have to be factors.

it's good guys like Guetzel, Kessell etc...are factors, that should eventually free up opportunities for those two.

on Crosby, i have a ton of respect for him at this point in his career, he's the obvious target, takes it every night, and doesn't ever become a liability....as Malkin can be at times.

Crosby's mental makeup astonishes me, and he's had it ever since he came into the league at 18. It might be his single greatest asset as a player. He does get his shots in, but the amount of crap he takes from opponents, especially in the playoffs, is insane, yet it doesn't seem to truly get to him.

If Malkin got that kind of treatment from the opposition, he'd never get out of the penalty box.

:eek:lol: yep, i told my wife last night...i couldn't play that game....i wouldn't be able to let it go. i'd a lost my s**t several times....

Scoreboard say 2-0 pens.. other stats means nothing

I know, but you don't find it funny that a particular team dominates those stats...and has lost both games?

If you are controlling the puck, the flow of play, and outshooting your opponent, shouldn't you be winning?

Maybe.. just seems like the pens are a better team

Being ahead in stats doesn't mean Nashville is the better team; you can argue Nashville has been outplaying them, but the better team? I'm not seeing it.

It's either the Pens are incredibly lucky or they are the better team based on the fact they find a way to win even when they are being outplayed. Considering they are the defending champs, I'm going to say it ain't luck.
