Official Nashville Predators Thread

Granlund with the pathetic shot there, top shelf glove side to beat Saros. He took two of those shots and gave up both. Hard to cover that at his height.

As a casual hockey fan I dont claim to know a lot about hockey, but yikes the predators seem like they're always a step behind everytime I watch them

Yeah but I'm kinda intrigued at the kid we have down in the AHL, Connor Ingram. He has a 2.12 GAA and a 92% save percentage to go along with 11 wins and 1 shutout. On top of that he has improved each of his 3 years down in the minors.

No name jumps out at me as a replacement.

Daryl Sutter?

I don't know who we go with in the interim but probably should consider Milwaukee's Karl Taylor. He has some familiarity with our players and the Admirals right now are leading the AHL with 54 points and more importantly 1st in the PP at 27% and 7th in the PK a 84.7%.

This is only his second season, so how much familiarity does he have? I hope they make a great hire. but in all reality, I am not sure if there is a name jumping out to me that says Stanley Cup in who we hire.

Has it been said why he got fired yet? Not That Its a bad choice
Kind of. He said he has an alcohol problem and has admitted himself to an inpatient facility:

Jim Montgomery details alcohol abuse that led to firing from Stars

He might have an alcohol problem, but let's be real...that isn't why he was fired. He was fired for something that he did, which very well may have been caused by an alcohol problem, but nobody has said what that was. You run into all kinds of legal trouble if you fire someone just because they're an alcoholic.

So the three names everyone is throwing around is Mike Babcock, Peter DeBeor, and John Hynes. All of which were fired earlier in the season as well. I don't really understand the Hynes speculation that much at least the other two guys have a track record of success.

No sport cycles through retreads like the NHL does, except perhaps European soccer.
