Official Nashville Predators Thread

Yep. I love that he's able to carry the team, but I hate knowing that if we don't drastically improve on the offensive end, our playoff run is riding essentially on one player.

The only thing I care about is doubling them up on the scoreboard

Though it is somewhat troubling to think about.

Unreal that Detroit had 41 shots on goal to 17 for the Preds and still end up losing 3-1. Rinne is the MVP so far imo and is the direct reason they are beating Detroit.

I'm rooting hard for the hawks, because I like that matchup in the 2nd round, and it would give us another round of home ice advantage. Or, hell, if the hawks and the sharks win, we would be the highest seeded Western team left :eek:lol:

I'd rather play Chicago than LA at this point, though.

Rinne is really good. But I think some credit has to be given to the gameplanning. They are letting them take the long, bad shots (of course you couldn't do that without Rinne). And their offsense seems be focused on quality and outlasting the Wings.

Had to miss the third period last night, so I have two questions:

1. What the heck was Jimmy Howard thinking on Klein's goal?
2. Will there be a replay of this game on anytime today/tomorrow?

People talk about how great Peks has been but our team defense has been just as impressive. Alot of low quality chances for Detroit last night.

Hope this team can show some killer instinct Friday night. No need to give them another shot at the Joe. Our foot is on their throat, now it's time to FINISH THEM

41 shots on goal?

Withrow made a good point on 104.5 today, he said that it's kind of like baseball in the sense that it doesn't really matter how many hits you get, it's the timing of your hits..or something of that nature.

I get what he's saying..the wings had a ton of shots but not many were good quality scoring chances.

And 2 of 3 preds goals were basically into open nets.

If a team is getting 41 chances to score on you, you are not playing very good defense. The chances that Detroit was getting last night should have produced at least 2 more goals, but since Rinne is playing out of his mind right now, Nashville has looked good defensively. Detroit had 7 power plays and still couldnt score.....not because of defense, but 95% due to Rinne. Put anyone else in net for the Preds last night, Detroit wins that game imo.

No idea. Or the 3 Detroit players that followed Erat for that matter

Lol I was thinking the same thing. They just followed him to the corner leaving the middle absolutely wide open. And Howard obviously had a brain fart to leave the net and extend that far out.

They dominated puck possession, but many of their shots were harmless, easy saves for Pekka. Rarely did Detroit get a shot off in the slot, and they kept play at the perimeter. Quality scoring chances mean more than throwing pucks in Peks glove all night.

:good!:OK

I said "ok".....we disagree with this and thats ok. Outshooting your opponent and outshooting your opponent by nearly 30 shots on goal are two different things. We just have to disagree that your defense played well, not a big deal.

This team will go as far as Pekka takes them. When he is locked in, most of the time, its a W. He is playing unreal right now.

He is for sure playing his best, and thank goodness this is the time to be doing it. He had a few horrible games during the regular season, so it's good to see him back in form.

1.) he was out of position because he was facing where the puck was at the time, it was a great pass by Erat.
2.) playoffs aren't re-broadcasted by sportsouth, although I wish they were.
