I was hoping to get some conversation about the Preds additions and their affect or lack thereof with the team.

If they bring in all these names and fail to get out of the 2nd round, it will show to be a terrible mistake

Disagree, did you feel the same way after win won against Detroit in 5 games? We're losing as a team, not because of one particular guy.

I like the pickups we made. Improved the team. I think Gil's problem is that he hadn't played in awhile

Well, we beat Detroit in 5. Now we have 5 games to beat Phoenix. It looks bleak, but I haven't officially thrown in the towel yet! Time to show that home ice actually means something in the playoffs!

We were better than Detroit the whole year. Also, Gil didn't play at Detroit.

He wasn't brought in to be aggressive. He's here to clear the front of the net and kill penalties. He was a big part of why Pitt won the Cup several years ago.

I hear you. I just don't think his style is a good fit here. We play hockey fast, aggressive and loud.

And I think one of Phoenix's goals in game one was a slap shot from the wing and he got knocked down by a Coyote in front of the net as the puck came by over Rinne's left shoulder.

I know. I'm a fan of seeding by points and say screw the divisions. Nashville would have been 3rd and Phoenix 7th.

I'm beginning to think emotional high from finally knocking off Detroit (for the guys who have been here a while).

Those who wouldn't appreciate it as much: AK, Rads, etc, flat don't give a **** through two games.

Those are some of the thoughts that I agree with and wanted to put up for discussion. Damn, I hope they win and prove me wrong.
It would be a huge disappointment for the franchise to put themselves out there with the aquisitions and have them not pan out again. Plus, this is as aggressive as they have been. AK is the only one that has really been a positive, imo.

Yeah, all signs point to this being the year.. and I really believe we can win the Western Conference. But they are really blowing it, big time. Poile went all in at the trade deadline and by signing Rads. AK has been a plus. Gaustad hasn't done much. He has won a few big faceoffs but lost several as well, especially against the Wings. Datsyuk owned him IMO. But it isn't too late. Ship can be righted but it has to start from the first drop of the puck tonight.

If we don't advance , and these problems from acquired guy really kill us, I could see us being gunshy for the next few years.

Kind of like the foresberg deal without trouble obviously. Giving up a 1st for goose is bad regardless
