Official NFL Playoffs Thread

I bet if you polled the NFL 90+% would say they'd rather get hit in the head than the knees.

Yes, but I am sure Jamal Charles would want to have stayed in the game last week despite the concussion. The league has to step in and protect these dudes from themselves.

I agree with that but a Concussion out a couple games, torn ACL out a year +.

Then the rules need to be amended such that it's also illegal for the receiver put himself in a defenseless position attempting to catch a pass. If defenders aren't allowed to leave their feet to hit guys to prevent catches from being made, why should receivers be allowed to leave theirs free of ramifications to catch passes?

Not going to happen, the league is offense driven. It's all on the defender to make the right play in a split second.

I've had 8 concussions and I'm fine. They don't have to play, they picked their profession.

This is pretty much where I stand. These guys are handsomely rewarded for playing a game, and have the option to walk away at any moment if they feel the risks outweigh the reward. I don't personally understand the fanatical desire to protect grown men from themselves. That's is, until the lawsuit factor is thrown in, and then it makes sense for the league to protect itself from the litigious society we live in.

I don't entirely disagree but there should be every step taken to protect the players too

I know people sue for anything and everything, but because you get hurt playing football in the NFL should not be a thing you can sue for. Players know the risk.
