***Official NSD 2016 updated as the commits come in

Don't let the ranking fool anyone. This class is full of under-rated players and fills the need for the team.

The 3 Olineman are going to be good and we have time to develop them.

WR got boosted big time with speed. Again? No immediate need to play this coming year.

DB. Home freaking run. We have some immediate impact guys in the 2 deep and special teams.

QB. Best QB available for our system.

RB. CFA does nothing but make big plays. Will get a chance to learn and develop behind Hurd and Kamara. Will be our starting back in 1 year. 1 cut and go type back. Very very under-rated.

Good class.

I am hoping the JUCO guys contribute immediately. And that most of the HS guys redshirt & get some time in the S&C program and to learn the system. It is good to no longer have to sell early playing time to get recruits.

Maybe one of T Byrd or M Osborne contribute immediately for depth in the secondary. I say Osborne as he is an early enrollee.

Perhaps we see L Williams returning punts/kickoffs. And I see Fils-amie getting some playing time if either Kamara or Hurd need a spell.

But that is it. I want the rest to RS.

What is the latest on Darrell Brown? if he picks us, do we have room for him? I've been working all day, thank you Freak for the updates. Ive looked all day to see how we have done. A job well done!!!!!

Derrick Brown went to Auburn.

On to '17 recruits. We're in on a ton of talent. Looking forward to all the ups and downs, speculation, supposed insiders, melt downs, and booms for a fresh crop of recruits.

We're now ranked #15. I thought we might end up getting in the top 10 but that's not likely now with just a few undeclared recruits left. Still a nice class but I hope we can get back to where we always have a top 10 recruiting class just like the good ol days.

We need to in order to consistently compete with the likes of the other SEC schools such as BAMA, LSU, Georgia, Auburn, Florida, etc. We are the #7th class in the SEC so that tells you how far we still have to go for the future. Middle of the pack in the SEC with recruiting classes isn't going to cut it every year & I'm glad this is Butch's first one outside top 10.

I wanted one high school dt but oh well. I think the glaring need on defense was met in the secondary which was just subpar for alot of this year and cost us games. Staff knew it and addressed it. Im very happy we finally have elite corners other thanthan sutton and maybe a young star that will shine this year. Best secondary haul in nation. Time to kill it in 17 with elite players

My monitor was right in front of me and couldn't be seen by the interviewee. Trust me, I ain't going to miss it as I refresh the page on this thread.

Seriously? You pretended to interview someone while you were really watching the war room feed??

That's turrible. :lol::lol:

I think a lot of elite kids in this class were looking at who remains and has eligibility for the Vols. I see next year us getting back towards the top, out of our starting 22 from 119, we only lost how many? Next year that changes and youngsters will want to be here in a big way.

The ratings can be deceiving because they add the total score based on the number of players signed. Example - UCLA has a higher ranking on Rivals because they signed 29 players to our 21. BUT if you look at the average rating of the players, we are # 12 on Rivals, ahead of UCLA, FL and TX.

I think we would have needed it next year as well and this because Kongbo will most likely be a one and done. Yes?

Kongbo one and done?

He started playing HS ball in Canada midway through his senior year. He played six games, went to Wyoming where he redshirts, transfers to Arizona Western. According to their website they played 11 games this year.

So, unless I am mistaken, when Kongdo makes his first appearance in Tennessee orange, this at most will be the 18th game he has played. In. His. Life.

If someone takes him in the draft, he will more than likely be the most inexperienced player drafted into the NFL ever.

I would think before he makes that jump, he needs to get some games on his resume.

Welcome to the board Brendwood. Post often. :hi:

Oddly, the overall ranking doesn't bother me this year because I love the talent that chose UT. Looks to be a solid class. Time will tell but nice finish by CBJ and staff.
