***Official NSD 2016 updated as the commits come in

Signing day has finally come & gone. It was very exciting this year with much suspense & drama...seemingly enjoyed by most (except the Canes). It seems a bit wistful & almost empty without a thread to check for some new tidbit of knowledge about some talented athelete...gleaning for some insight as to his intentions toward our beloved Vols. It is a strong class with some exceptional talent. It was not as good as it could have been...but not due to the efforts of our coaches, staff & players. As always they gave all they had. It was a class much like the past season. One to be proud of...but wistful as to what almost was in some ways. Thanks to Freak and all of Volnation for a fun recruiting season. Welcome to Rocky Top to all of the new VFLs. Go Vols!!!

The ratings can be deceiving because they add the total score based on the number of players signed. Example - UCLA has a higher ranking on Rivals because they signed 29 players to our 21. BUT if you look at the average rating of the players, we are # 12 on Rivals, ahead of UCLA, FL and TX.

Don't know the formula for 247, but Rivals only takes into account the top 20 for each team. Teams with more players have an advantage in that the lower ranked players they have don't count against them. But they don't get credit for having more players.

We took some developmental players this year. Players that have the potential to be really good for us. And with the way Jones and Co. evaluate talent, I think they will be. But their rankings are a little lower than they would be if they were ready now.

Both GA and USC are ranked higher than us with fewer recruits.
