To lighten the mood....

Q: What do most of the posters in here and an Alabama dentist have in common?

A: None of us have got much work done today

Or because they've been to every playoff since it's existed? Or because they win 10 games every season? Or because they win their rivalry games? Or because they're always in Atlanta at the end of the season? Or maybe it's a simple as they want to play for a winner?...

Don't disagree and Saban is a helluva coach. But we would be naive to think Bama boosters aren't doing what they've always done. They're the insurance policy that those kids keep coming. The evidence is out there in full view. They've just perfected the art of knowing how not to get caught...very often.

Lets turn this into a positive. Out of the guys we did sign this class, who are a couple recruits on offense and defense that you are most excited about?

For me, on offense it is Chandler or Smith. And defense I really like Ignont and Labruzza.

Bonus picks would be Murphy, Butler, and Reid.

Overall it is a solid class with a lot of position needs and some talented guys. It does not have star power or anything and today's NSD was boring, but we will be ok. I think a lot of our guys will blossom into stars and some will contribute immediately. We have a lot of talent on the roster from 16' and 15' that can make an impact next season. Then the 2018 class can bring in another group of star studded recruits. We just need to start having more success on the field and continue our momentum. It's make or break time.

Below average class. No getting around that.

We tied Maryland with the most recruits at 28 and yet landed at #13 in the ranking and had the biggest ranking slide of the day per ESPN. Tells you that Butch couldn't win with the high caliber recruits so he turned to plan B which was to flood the class with 3*s and hope like hell that one or two of them turn out. The last month or so of recruiting makes more sense now. I was wondering why all of a sudden he was getting 3* after 3* to commit so close to signing day. It turns out the writing on the was was there long before today. Today was just a formality of sorts.

I'm just excited we got the #1 player in the country :)

And not the finish to the season that we all expected during preseason. Noticing a trend?

Of course! A predictable finish to all but the 'Happy Fans', who are so emotionally tied to 'their' coach they can't see a coach/program, that since the SC loss, is moving in the wrong direction. Next year will be Butch's last and every recruit heard that from rival teams.

There is a great tradition of cheating at bama, and I rather doubt it has ended.

As for this class, I think we've got one great and two good offensive line prospects, and some potentially solid DL players as well (I think Crosby will be good). We've got a good LB prospect in Ignont and an excellent RB prospect. We need a couple of the corners to be good, along with Bembry at OLB. Linebacker has been a position of weakness and would like to have got one more stud at that position. The WRs seem ok--on the short side, so we'll see, and not sure about safeties. Not a lot of quality depth in this class, but it might turn out better than we think.

13 pages in and this thread is as empty as a church on Monday.

Tells you how bad it truly was today.. Most folks didn't even bother to show up to get the bad news.

I do think it is hilarious we were mocking Florida for being around #31 in the team rankings a few days ago and now they have jumped us and are ranked #12(Rivals)/#14(247). Alabama is #1/#1 , UGA is #3/#3, and LSU is #5/#5. Tennessee is #14/#16 and #7 overall in the SEC.

Also, I think our class is a lot better than the recruiting sites say, but it is hard to swallow when you see our stars and overall average. We have 28 guys for an average of 87.14. There are only 5 other teams lower than us in the top 25 team rankings. Virginia Tech (86.19), Oregon (86.72), South Carolina (87.02), Mississippi State (86.04), and Maryland (86.91). Georgia is 92.87, Alabama 93.50, LSU 91.44, and Florida 88.73. If it was not for the pure quantity of this class we may not have even made the top 25, but then again without some of the lower 3 stars the average may have increased and improved our ranking too.

This class has a lot of players from winning programs, and specifically state championship teams. I like the make up of it. I have a feeling this group of guys is going to get after it on the field.

Yet here you are, wallowing in your own discontent. Like a hog in slop.

This class has a few impact pieces. The place where we needed immediate impact players but whiffed were corner and wide receiver. I feel like we got what we needed at tackle, linebacker and running back. We do have some quality depth players in this class but due to some misses this class looks underwhelming on paper.

And I got absolutely blasted for saying our class would tank and finish between 15 and 20. Mediocre class with a mediocre head coach is a recipe for disaster. All he had going for him was his recruiting and now that's slipping.

MWA is a Bama fan!!! All you have to do is read between the lines and it's obvious!

LOL. OK. If I were a Bama fan I'd be a lot happier today. But you know I'll follow your narrative of "he say bad tings and me no like bad tings he must be Bammer".

I'll be back here next signing day for you to throw poop at as I talk about reality in your closed little sunshine bubble filled with Butch's hot air.

This 2017 class reminds me of a REM song....

"Its a 3-star world and we know it....." (aka "Its the end of the world as we know it") - ironically.

You know how it is, you're only a tennessee fan if you pump sunshine and stay positive no matter what regardless of what's going on. If you accept reality then you're not a true fan. The class is Mediocre but I can't say I blame the highly rated kids they probably want to be developed properly
