They are, you just have to go back to the Upper Carboniferous period to find their common ancestors, the first amniotes. They were small, lizard looking creatures whose eggs could survive on land- a pretty big deal back in the day. They divided into two main groups, the sauropsids(which become dinosaurs, reptiles, birds, etc) and synapsids(of which mammals are descended). Over 300 million years ago is a long time, but blood is thicker than water, or something.
People from Oklahoma never cease to amaze...
So this morning I had to see off a trip to Dallas. And in honor of the Smokey Grays, I don my Smokey Gray hoodie and white Power T hat. Now it should be plainly obvious it's Tennessee gear since the word "Tennessee" is in bright orange and three inches high on the sweatshirt. But what do I hear from not one, not two, but three people?
"Why are you rooting for Texas?"
Seriously? Can you not read the letters? Texas doesn't even have the same amount of letters. And after I look down at my shirt to make sure none of the embroidery came loose and the N didn't magically transform itself into an X. And even giving them the benefit of the doubt on spelling it Texes, it still doesn't work.
Anyway, I get a half hearted "oh" and "they should have won against OU." Drives me up the wall.

Arkies are just as bad. They mistake the power T for Texas. I witnessed a guy in Best Buy a few ago with a Tennessee hat on. I spoke to him, dumbass thought he had a Texas hat on.
