It's not even remotely absurd to expect someone to have some coaching experience.

And "fight in the heart"? As if Serrano doesn't have that.

He doesn't coach high school, doesn't coach college, was never on staff on a professional team. He could be a good assistant and work with a team given he runs a training facility. But to give him the reigns of a power 5 team right off the bat would be idiotic.

This is what I will say about the possibility of a coaching search and I won't say anything else until the season is over.

I feel a hell of a lot better about our new AD being able to sit down with Todd Helton.

As far as former players go, he's the one I'd take. But I'd still be very hesitant on it. But he absolutely needs to be consulted regarding who to hire.

I'm not even suggesting him as a coach...but a sounding board for what's wrong with the program, what do we need to do to attract the best players and any names that he might have in some kind of capacity...

I'm pretty sure Helton doesn't have a degree. Not that it's the end of the world.

That's a perfect role. Especially since he's actually working with the team.

And this is beyond embarrassing. I don't buy the bit about the delays being an issue because it sure as hell isn't bother State.

That's what's great about it, you aren't just calling up Ernie Grunfeld and asking for a name, he's at the facilities, he's watching the competition...he's in a perfect position to advise a guy and help the process.

If it's going to happen I am glad he's here.


As for tonight, I'm chalking this up as "one of those nights"...This is definitely in the top 3 worst performances od the CDS era...it could easily be #1.

I'd say a night like this is entirely predictable with a very young roster under the pressure of an 0-4 SEC start.
