Official Tennessee at Ole Miss Game 1 Thread - 7:30 PM - SECN/ESPN3

Hate to say it, but I think the wheels are about to come off on this season. Damn...I really thought this was the year. Plenty of time to get "his roster". Not sure what to think anymore. Stunned if I'm being honest.

came to check out the score and see how the vols were doing.

vol66, you have my deepest sympathy. you are as loyal and diehard a fan of any school's team that I know. you have followed this team and keep putting out these threads year after year with no return on investment

honestly, I always hope that tennessee goes out and has a good season because if there is any fan that deserves to see one, it would be you.

Regrettably, if this score holds, this season is as good as over. if they go .500 the rest of the way, they'd have a 12-18 conference record and I don't think that would be good enough.

I can't answer the Serrano question because I don't know what comes back, what's in the program that has a promising future, and what is headed to Tennessee on the recruiting trail.

I just don't know if it's going to happen.

99, I appreciate the words though it sounds a bit like pity. :)

I just happened to start the coaching search thread four years ago and after researching all of the candidates and there were many, I was rooting for Serrano.

The "degree" issue was a problem for some and I argued against that. A lot of those guys no longer post here and I've always felt like if this hire didn't work out I should be here to take my medicine and I've tried to be true to that.

Had we hired Chad Holbrook (was never going to happen) I'd still be starting game threads because college baseball is fantastic. The Tennessee Rivals . com and the Scout.com don't have boards that support baseball fans. I wanted to have one here and it's the price of admission.

As for Serrano, this remaining season and next...We're just going to have to let it play out. For the record, I didn't think we'd win today, but if we don't win tomorrow...though, a bunch of teams are only a game ahead of us in the conference.

Thanks 99.

lol, shouldn't have said a "bunch"...two teams have seven losses, we now have eight, not winning tomorrow would be bad indeed.

Smdh

He seriously admits that he was playing for Saturday and Sunday with his rotation choices.

For the record I don't blame him for it but damn you can't publicly admit giving up on winning game 1.

Year 4 and we are still with this mentality unreal

You needed him to admit it?

We all knew what he was doing but dang you can't say it publically IMO

Bad part is tonight would have likely been a win with marks starting. Bigtime mistake if we don't win tomorrow AND Sunday. Winning tonight would have made a series win very likely

How so?

We scored 7. Would have won 95% of the time but to answer your question

Sat/sun split which likely happens now

The proof will be in the pudding I guess. We have eight guys and I agree conceding on Friday absolutely sucks...it did last year, and the year before, Cox is hurt, now Serrano is hurt and we have Marks, Warren and who? PLenny.

Serano is hurt??

I missed that. I only checked in late in the game

Yeah he took one in the shin or calf, not sure which, but he had to leave the game, he tried to tough it out out but he couldn't push off the rubber...hopefully not a serioue deal but it certainly f'd up the strategy...which is why Aaron Soto made his debut this evening.

Thx

Glad to hear it wasn't throwing related

what's the point of discussing the game with people that didn't watch the game?

GNVN.
