Scoring 7 last night doesn't mean we would have scored 7 in a close game. Bianco used his big lead to avoid stretching his #1 past six innings and worked from the back of his bullpen for the set up work.

I watch the games, I just don't participate in the games threads anymore due to my disgust for the current state of the program. Im sorry but CDS has failed here, may be time for Hart to start reaching out.

IMO, Serrano needs to be given 6 years. Im not sure why the expectations were so high this year. I just reviewed the past 4 recruiting classes according to perfect game. Honestly, the 2015 and 2016 classes are finally SEC talent level. The past classes haven't been very deep talent wise. The ranking have been skewed due to 2 or 3 players who enter the draft out of high school. Overall, those classes were not top to bottom SEC caliber. We forget that these kids were 7,8, 9 years old when Tennessee was good under Delmonico. IMO, we need to mix in some juco kids along with the freshman each class.

I just reviewed the SEC stats. Stewart is leading the conference in hrs and slugging. There's 50 players in the conference hitting well above 300. Unless there's ego problems, Stewart is the only jr who should be lost to the draft.

6 years to advance the program forward? Wow.

I am at a loss that when this year is in the books, there is an ever increasing likelihood that Dave Serrano's SEC mark may be worse than the four year reign of terror by the singular worst hire in UT Athletics history, the incomparable Todd Raleigh.

Absolutely love what you do here .......
But if everyone is watching the game why in the world do you feel the need to give us a play by play??

Baseball is a 4-5 game a week sport. Very hard to expect fans to watch every game. Threads like this one allows us to catch up and discuss the game. Very different than a football game thread IMO

Yes, 6 years. As of now, the next 2 recruiting classes are the best Serrano has recruited since being at Tennessee.

Good point but scoring 3 off the Friday night starter in 6 innings is a very solid effort offensively.

This program has regressed from last year that's not good. He will have a worse record than Raleigh after 4 years, as far as expectations with the resources that are available UT should be top 10 in the conference every year no excuses

Serrano will get his 5th year no matter what. We're not gonna pay another buyout. The fact is the team has yet to replace Smart, Price, and Maddox in the lineup. We'll struggle the rest of the season simply because half the lineup cant hit. Chris Beatts will be lost to the draft, but the incoming class is still good.

Surely his buyout is peanuts at this point that investment would be well worth moving forward and getting someone else in here.

Last year I posed the question to the board if it was time to move on from the play by play stuff because UT started blogging the game, and that I thought it was pretty good, they also basically do it on twitter, though that's not every play. Honestly, with every game this season televised and available to be re-played, seems silly to do it...but when I asked last year people wanted it to stay including the grand poobah so...

And I wasn't really aiming my comment about discussing the game at you, just a general comment about what is happening here. For instance, a discussion with someone who understands what happened to the pitching staff from the beginning to now versus someone who does not is quite a different discussion. I try to add tidbits to the scout but I guess some don't read it.

You and I have always had good discussion, all around VN.

The last two classes were vastly better than the first two and as you say the next two classes, on paper, are better than those. Aric Thomas who replaced coach Mo two years ago has a lot to do with it imo.

Keep up the great work. I don't post in here often but I'm always following your updates and scouts. I don't often get to watch the games and it's easy for me to follow here since I'm checking in anyways. :hi:
