I counted at least 3 times down the stretch when they shot a jumper right in his face and he didnt even have his hands up. It might help if he could rebound, pass or make a damn free throw too.

Great season Volballers! I am so proud of what you've accomplished. We're back. Pay no attention to the ones who can't lose without assigning blame to someone. They, in fact, are the big losers.

Thanks to all you guys on the team. The fans of Tennessee are very proud of you!! You done good!

U shut the hell up! U keep supporting SPearl & him playing quality minutes and when the Final Four comes every year u will be watching "other" teams... We lost by one point, if CBP plays his bench a little less maybe we win today, the good coaches "shrink" their bench at tournament time b/c they want there best five getting the minutes not there best ten like our coach.. We're NOT a deep ten CBP is forcing it by playing ten guys - when we sub SP for Chism your going from your best offensive threat to worst offensive player in NCAA history (and that's not a joke) he is that bad its 4 on 5 and CBP played that way for 25% of the entire game (assuming SP got 11 min). I was proud of our teams effort today but in one point games u can second guess alot of stuff and I'm second guessing playing ten guys - at one time mid-way thru 2H we had two walk-ons on the court together (one couldn't have scored even if the other team had left the court) + we had Goins out there who wasn't giving us anything offensively.

Both of you shut the hell up. You aren't the coach that just took the Vols to the Elite 8 therefore you don't make the decisions

Who would have thought Tennessee would have been in this spot on New Year's Day ??..Who would have thought the Vols would have been here after the SECT loss to Kentucky ??...What a run...What a bunch of seniors.....What a bunch of coaches...This hurts...It hurts alot...I hope the guys watched a little bit of the MSU celebration and remember what this feels like and use it for motivation for the offseason....

I'm so heartbroken right. I feel like I lost my wife or something. My heart has been ripped out. I actually cried over this loss. It was truly disappointing. What a great season but it hurts to come up short of a Final Four.

Great season guys! What a bunch of great kids & coaches. Considering everything we went through this was the best season in Tennessee basketball history. I still am badly hurt because we were right there with a chance of making it to our first Final Four ever. It will take me a while to get over this one.

I hate to see Chism leave out like this because he has been a great Vol for 4 years. This performance will certainly help us with recruiting even more. We may make it to a Final Four sometime in the future. GO VOLS! :frown:

Maze 9 points in 22 minutes...Goins 7 points in 17 minutes...Goins scored more per minute than Maze, hardly giving "nothing offensively."

The great Tom Izzo played 11 players today...7 of them getting double-digit minutes....Pearl played 10 players today...8 getting double-digit minutes....You have to play the players if you have the ability to do so....Ask Ohio State about how their shrinking line-up worked out....

Out of the 8 players that recorded double-digit minutes, Pearl played the least at 11 minutes...In those 11 minutes, Pearl grabbed 2 rebounds, exactly 1 less than Wayne Chism had and 2 steals which led the team...He also had 1 turnover...3 less than J.P. Prince....

And the 2 points MSU scored with less than a second to go off that inbounds pass going into half....

They scored 3 points right at the end of both halves and the Vols lose by 1 point...

To the poster who said "great" coaches shrink their lineups. Ask Thad how that works. And for the record ,had we gone with your thinking on fri, we see the sunrise in Knox on sun, so get over yourself. BP did a hell of a job as did our guys. Lay off and enjoy the season's success.

I love the Vols, so sad to see the better team lose today.

Every team but one, unless the NIT counts at all, ends the season with a loss and every one of those teams have disappointed fans that want to blame somebody. Read the smack on Kentucky's board. Hello, a casual reader of Ohio State's board would never know they just got beat by Tennessee. It had to have something to do with the coach, the players, or...oh yeah...the zebras! TENNESSEE has every reason to believe UT will be back. I will remember Chism' headband and smiles; I will remember JP's salute and his growth this year; I will remember Bobby's tatoo's and his penetration lay-up, assists, and 3's. These seniors took UT to the Elite Eight! I look towards next season with optimism. Returning players will mature. The only gripe I have are the faint of heart that were ready to give up ten minutes before the buzzer and the feint-hearted snipers who jump on Scotty and Steve. Thank you, Vols and Thank you Coach Bruce Pearl. GBO

I think we have NOTHING to hang our heads about today. A few missed free throws, a few bad calls. Hey, these guys played their a$$e$ off today, & this club WITHOUT Tyler Smith ( wish him the best !) did something NO OTHER Tennessee team has done ; made the Elite 8 ! My hats off to you, gentlemen, for a year well done !

Great effort by the coaching and team this year.....its easy for us to second guess....but let's not sound like Kentucky fans.....speaking of which, CBP outcoached Coach Cal through the tournament and with much less talent....I am proud to be a VOL!!!! Go VOLS!!! Can't wait for next year!!!!

W T F was Hopson thinking in that situation??? You HAVE to wait till under 10 seconds to run a play !! He has sucked most of the last half of the season.....but he thinks......well not really with 11 seconds still on the clock that HE will be the guy to make a challenged shot????? Then alright there is a foul ....but he sucks at free throws WOW guess he forgot about that one also:crazy:

Then no pressure on the ball and they send there best 3 point shooters to the other goal to clear out for who....... J P ???? WOW i have cheered all year, every game, every play but cmon that is the play they drew up?:rock:

Hopson better get his head out of his ass next year and quit thinking he is all that.....He has too much talent to just half ass about every other play like he does.

THINK THINK THINK......11 seconds and he shoots the ball ???even if he makes it you are giving them WAY too much time to bring it down and make a play and that is exactly what i thought would happen when he shot that mess !:blink:
