Looking at where we are now (8-9) and with 14 games (3 ranked teams) to go, what are our chances of making it to the big dance???

if they can go 10-6 in the sec, 9-4 the rest of the way, beat uconn they would probably need 1 or 2 wins and would be considered a bubble team. that would put them at 20-13/14ish depending on sec tourney, i think with the win vs uconn that'd get them in. the game vs uconn is huge towards their chances without the win they pretty much need to win the sec tourney.

Its not impossible, but, if we can somehow learn how to close out a game it can be done. Stokes will be a huge plus once he gets acclimated to our defensive posture. I think Stokes and his passing ability will drastically improve our three point production.

With the bad loses on our record, probably need to go 9-5 the rest of the way. Must have KY win on the road and either a win against a ranked Vandy another against FL. That would make us 17-14. Then have to win 3 games in the SEC championship tourny. 20-15 with wins over KY and either sweep with FL or good Vandy win plus whoever we beat in the SEC tourney. I think that would put us on the bubble.

Not eliminated yet, but a win vs Uconn would really bolster their chances. A loss will cripple their chances. We need the UF win to look as good as possible.. We also need the teams we lost to exceed expectations.

Very good chance KY could be ranked #1 next time we play them.

a win @ rupp would look awfully nice. im starting with the game against well georgia which if we lose then we dont deserve the tourney, but im starting with uconn. if we can win the game against uconn that is a building block for this team and puts us on the right path and maybe some confidence against big time teams. if we can build off that with a 10-6 record in the sec we would be in pretty good shape.

The NCAA Tourny isn't gonna happen but if they can start turning some of these close losses into wins they'll have a decent shot at an NIT invite. There's just too many bad losses to ignore.

they will get a nit invite i really dont have much concern about that unless they completely fall apart which is unexpected. to say though that they have no shot at a ncaa tourney though is just ridiculous with this much basketball left to be played.

Yes, UT is improving but at the end of the day Miss St and UK were losses. Both were winnable and would've given this team 3 quality wins in a row. To those thinking UT will win at UK, that's not going to happen. I would love for it to, but this team isn't that good.

Sitting at 8-9 at this point with no good wins out of conference to bolster our profile in the eyes of the selection committee, not a chance in hell.

right now no no chance. your saying though if we beat uconn at home and catch a few breaks in the sec and finish at 10-6 in conference which really isnt that hard if you look at the schedule, thatd put us at 17-13 and win an sec tourney game that we wouldnt be a bubble team?

have some faith

were you also saying before saturday that tennessee didnt have a chance to beat uk that this team isnt that good? im not saying they go there and win but to completely right them off is dumb i think.

16-15 going to sec tourney. 1 win and 1 loss puts us in nit, on the road. will do well in nit. just too inconsistent, on the road especially. trae really has to step up to do this well.

I think we need to beat UConn and finish 11-5 in the SEC to have a decent profile on the Bubble entering the SECT.

Not gonna happen. Stop discussing it.

We may make the NIT, and we may become a serious contender.

It's possible we win the SEC Tourney, but very unlikely.

why put not gonna happen stop discussing it and then say its possible to win the sec tourney though, which would get you in the ncaa tourney?

I believe the team can live up to our expectations for a winning season if they put enough effort into it. I just don't think the selection committee is going to grace the SEC this time around with too many bubble opportunies. Vandy, Bama, State, and even Arky are more likely to get the nod over UT unless the Vols are clearly better.
