Official Thread of the St. Louis Cardinals

I read that Matheny wanted to give Rosenthal a day off. Seems like anyone would have been better in a clutch situation given how Boggs has pitched this year.

Although St Louis is calling up Keith Butler from Springfield supposedly. Boggs headed back to Memphis?

Boggs is back in Memphis. Thank goodness

Miller and Waino looked great today. It was fun to hit 2 games in one day. It's been a while.

Just keep the momentum going through the boring June and July stretch. This early season success has been great. I'm sure San Fran, Washington, and Cincy will pick up the pace soon.

The reds are playing very good ball. They'd be in 1st in every other division in either the National or American league.
We won't keep up a .673 clip but to be at that % in June is pretty nice.

I think it was the Sports Illustrated with the Cards starting 5 on the cover I was reading in the doc's office Wed.....

Miller was talking about having a guy like Molina behind the plate. I didn't think it was possible, but I appreciate Molina even more.

And he got tossed for throwing his helmet. BS by the ump. Players do that a lot and I can't ever remember a player getting tossed for that. Terrible call by the ump.

Yea it was bogus. Molina was just frustrated in a close game. He said nothing to the umpire and turned to the dugout before the ump tossed him. He didn't linger or argue. He didn't even look at the ump.

Players toss their helmet at home and first base without getting tossed. Wonder why the ump had sand in his v@g.

The bad part is he wasn't even questioning the call. He was mad at himself.

Because of his outrage for being tossed, he now faces a suspension for making contact with an ump.

Dammit.

I can't remember how baseball handles suspensions. When they review the tape, I think they'll see he shouldn't have been tossed.

But that won't undo making contact. Maybe it will be minimal.

I'll be surprised if there's a suspension.

heard he said something about the ump's mother. may not be true though.

Hell, he didn't have time to say a word before he was tossed. There's no telling what he said after being tossed. But to toss a player for throwing his helmet down after making the 3rd out of a crucial inning just doesn't happen. I've never seen that happen in all my years of watching baseball.
