This is so sad. 2021 could be so bad. Lack of hitters, no big bats, and bringing Alberts back as batting coach. We’re getting weaker by the moment, and it’s pretty terrible in the front office.

It's just the beginning. The free agent market is going to be crazy with teams losing so much revenue. The positive is that we finally get free from Carpenter, Fowler and Carlos Martinez (if we choose to do so) contracts after 2021.

I like Wong but it's not a horrible loss. He's turning 30 and is projected to be .263/.346 8 HR, 37 RBI, 10 SB. 2B is not a position you overpay for. Edman is 25 should be equally productive offensively (projected .273/.338 11 HR, 40 RBI 8 SB), has a similar (slightly better) fielding % at 2B....and is MUCH cheaper.

Well, we’ve recently signed Tyler Heineman, Max Moroff, & Jose Rondon. Just filling a roster until we lose all the financial dead weight after 2021.

$5 million + $3 million in incentives.. I was very happy with that deal.

The Arenado trade is HUGE! If we pull this off without giving up Carlson, Gorman, Herrera or Liberatore... 😳...and the Rockies are eating part of the money?!?! I can’t believe it.

I'm stunned, thrilled. We're in StL now for birth of granddaughter and saw report on 9 pm news.

Congratulations!

I’d love a one year, incentive laden deal for Yadi. Wong’s mediocre bat drives me nuts but he’s a terrific glove.

same here, he wants to stay in STL ...was shocked when cards didnt pick up option -- he gives110% on field .... w/edman and or carp, dewitt may nix deal

I was at work when I saw the announcement and I almost knocked the office computer off in the floor, my cell phone hit the wall, and the office calendar went flying off of the desk. I was so excited I flew out and told everyone that were cardinal fans. 😂

post-dispatch reported today that other deals could be coming soon. Yadi 1-yeav deal expected as well as OF that could platoon with Bader. Reporter suggested that re-signing Wong was still posibility, but ESPN reported tonight that Brewers had grabbed him
