With the crazy contracts that have been handing out, I'm ok with that. There were rumors that we were in the hunt for Carlos Rodon. I think the bidding just got too expensive.

2-1 to start the season against a good Toronto team. Offense is looking stellar. Pitching has been pretty good. Atlanta coming into town starting tomorrow.

Went to Missouri a few weeks back to watch my daughters team play softball. Lived in St Louis from 1986-1989…grew up on Jack Clark, Tommy Herr, Ozzie, Willie and Herzog. Brought that love for the Cardinals back to East TN to this day.

This was my concern all winter as far as starting pitching goes. An unstable “ace” as far as Flaherty goes. An aging Waino, injury-prone Matz and really just the potential of an early bad start. Mo pooped in his pants as far as his decision to not pursue a couple of good arms. That Braves series was embarrassing. When you don’t even have the horses to compete against the good teams from a pitching standpoint, it sure makes it hard to understand how the season won’t be pretty average.

Cardinals lost game 1 to the Brewers but rebounded and won game 2 tonight. Arenado hit his 300th home run and Walker hit #2.
