Okay, I get we were dumb not to guard it, but how does a post hitting their first three point shot make them not an elite post player. I think you are confusing the terms elite and generational.

Very true, they did have 3 of the best players and athletes in the country at the time! I'm a fan of that style, and Ohio State does it very well currently. Remember how they dismantled the Lady Vols and UConn the last few years with that style. You gotta have the athletes though, and I'm sure that is the coaches goal.

no confusing. Elite is not the new 5th place everyone gets a trophy title mentality, it’s the same as it has always been.

Wow you're reaching hard. Kamilla's 3 pt shot was a total fluke. But she was an elite post player this year. Both can be true.

Also, I'm not in charge of the WBB Mt Rushmore nor some random order of "elite". All I know is Raven Johnson is a very elite point guard, and a big reason for SC's success. And the potential of Fulwiley and Watkins to reach elite soon is obious. You're free to curate your own elite, but I'd take those players and be eternally grateful for the upgrade any day.

And this is the last thing I’ll say on it. Yes, it’s fine to have lower ranked players on your team that buy into your system/phliosphy, but you NEED elite players around them to win. Example A is Marshall getting ran off the court against VT, it really is that simple.

After many days of processing the new direction and hire, I’m excited now for Lady Vol basketball. Not necessarily a rebrand, but a facelift. Bring on a new style that we’ve been needing for years. I hope we retain as many players as we can, but also understand their desire to move, and hope we get the right pieces from the portal if that is the case.

Raven wasn't the only one guarding CC when they gave up 18 in the first quarter. But she was almost exclusively guarding CC when she was held to 12 with poor shooting the last 3 quarters.

Raven is far better than "solid" but you do you.

Like some people still can’t accept football team giving up a million yards because we are scoring so fast but having a killer red zone TD stop rate.

Statistics only tell part of the story if you only look at 1 stat and not the others to see the whole picture.

Just like KC’s win percentage. It looks good on paper but if you dig a little bit you’d see she beat up on nobodies.

425-400 opponents combined record.

You can be elite wo going top 3, esp you're Jr yr. Don't know about the need for pgs and how they're valued, but I'll bet she'll be way up there next year. If she improves as much this offseason as she did last she'll be a very high draft pick IMO.

Raven didn’t score as much as Clark so she is just an athlete in a system

Except that was with Hendon at the helm and not Joe. And a different core of receivers. We had to slow things down considerably last year. How many total points did we score last year compared to the previous year when we would have more points in the first half than most teams had in an entire game? Personnel made a difference.

While true, she has been in D2 for most of her career. Who is even known big in D2? She was at Marshall, a very small D1 school for one year. Time will tell, but hope she brings us back to prominence.
