Using Scout as a reference, the schools are ranked by default based on total points (no. signed x stars) which is very deceiving. Take Florida, for example, who is only signing around 15-17 guys today b/c they are already loaded with underclassmen wearing big heavy rings. The only ways you can truly evaluate that class are 1) did they meet their needs? and 2) average stars per player. To compare them to Ole Miss with 35 signees (mostly 2 stars) is ridiculous and means nothing.
UT is ranked #11 by Scout based on average stars per player. They are #26 on total points, but they only signed 19 guys today. To me the #26 is irrelevant and the #11 is the one that counts. Now as far as evaluating the class based on needs will take some time but overall I thought we did OK.
Another RB (Oku or Brown) would be nice, but we got two outstanding athletes who can even play QB so I'm not disappointed in the class. The staff really had around a month to do this, so I'll give them credit for a job well done.
