Official Vols vs. Owls Game Thread

Tyler Smith played an terribly. I don't mind the low shooting percentage - that's going to happen - but his decision making today was very poor. I expect more from our senior.

I'm sitting here watching a little bit of Kansas. They're as young, if not younger, than we are, and they play smart. Youth has little to do with it. Coaching and basketball instincts have a lot more to do with it.

Watching 40 minutes of undisciplined streetball by our squad adds up to poor coaching, for sure. As much as I love Bruce, it seems to be the truth this time out. No excuse when you have 10 days to prepare for this game.

I'm a big Pearl fan, for sure. It's time for him to show he can turn talented players into smart players.

I love Bruce Pearl - and what he's done for the program.. and I love watching his style of play.. at times. I'm just not sure if we can compete for championships with it.. I think he's going to have to adapt and adjust. Sometimes the "controlled chaos" isn't what we need. It seems to win some games we shouldn't win... and lose some we shouldn't lose... but can it be consistent enough to win 6 games in the NCAAT? Instead of 2,3, or 4?

I'll be happy to see us get in to the dance at this point. They absolutely killed us on transitions, which is what we should be doing to the other guys. That was some seriously undisciplined ball today.

Good stuff. Reading this stuff makes me feel like I don't have to post. I can just read and nod my head. You guys are on top off it.

It has been mentioned before, but the start of this season really is looking a lot like the start of the '06/'07 year.

I'd like to think the upside is bigger for this year's team, so that gives me some hope for later in the season.

Doesn't change the fact that today, and a few other games honestly, was pretty ugly.

So how long were they chanting overrated? I only ask b/c the espn write-up went a little out of it's way to say they were chanting it for a good portion or even most of the game

Considering he has never won more than 2, I'd say no. That being said, once you get to the Sweet 16, anything can happen.

Once you get into the dance, anything can happen. I wouldn't count us out any more than I would count Memphis out at this point.

Anyone realize this snapped Tennessee's 27 game winning streak against non conference unranked opponents?
