Iowa is the higher seed and will be expected to win, but Angel Reese will have LSU ready to shock the world.Clark often gets compared to Steph because of the long 3s but she is more like Steve Nash (for the old timers), Same uncanny court vision and ability to make the pass no one else even thinks about,. Great body control and ability to hit what appear to be off balance shots and sneaky quickness, I think she was 3 for 12 from 3 today, She will need to be more locked in against LSU, who won't give her 20 easy paint points. Player for player, LSU would seem to have the stronger team so Iowa as a team will need to be on fire from outside to have a chance at winning., Iowa is undersized and thin at post which does not bode well.
I would expect LSU to be the betting favorite but I am betting that legacy aware Clark puts up a game for the ages.
Her outside shooting was off but that was an atypical game. She picked up two early fouls and was left in the game with instructions to not take undue risksI was at the games again today and the Iowa fans have to be the most obnoxious. I was surrounded by them except for like, 4 LSU fans that stayed to watch after their game and I was telling the LSU fans I'm going to be a LSU just for Monday out of spite.
Honestly to see CC live for the first time today I wasn't all that impressed. Yes, she can score and pass but I didn't see her working hard defensively (as usual) and there was a lot of her typical whining. And her 3pt shooting was abysmal. Honestly I wasn't overly impressed with Iowa's defense as a whole. Granted, Colorado couldn't buy a bucket half the time, but they were still out hustling Iowa constantly for rebounds and loose balls.
Say what you want about Angel Reese (who I also don't like), but at the game today she was hustling on both ends as well as being a productive scorer.
It's going to be quite an event and enormous pressure on two very young people. They've both gained a sh*t ton of life experience since this time last year but these are huge expectations. I bet they play nice in the lead up, we both love the competition, good for the game, etc. Will be interesting to see which can actually keep a cool head during the game.Iowa is the higher seed and will be expected to win, but Angel Reese will have LSU ready to shock the world.
I was there, too, though mostly surrounded by LSU fans, who complained at every single whistle against their team but also complained that they wished Van Lith had stayed at Louisville.I was at the games again today and the Iowa fans have to be the most obnoxious. I’m sure things will be fine but I don’t mind trash talking if that’s what both teams decide.Last year has nothing to do this this season. Iowa is the number 1 seed and LSU will be the u deed of and have the world against them. If you’re the number 1 seed and u have what people on here like to call her the best player ever they shouldn’t lose, LSU is going to have to play their games and limit the mistakes to win But I think they can do it but I’m sure I’m the minority. It's going to be quite an event and enormous pressure on two very young people. Zero people will be shocked if LSU wins. Alot will be disappointed though. Us against the World wears thin quick when it's coming from the reigning Natty, plus the self proclaimed biggest bag team in the universe.
Oh yeah, the LSU fans were annoying af and their constant whining was annoying too. I'm just a petty b*tch so I want to see Iowa lose to LSU (again) and then LSU lose to SC (again). And then SC can lose in the finals.I was there, too, though mostly surrounded by LSU fans, who complained at every single whistle against their team but also complained that they wished Van Lith had stayed at Louisville.![]()
Iowa is going to have real problems matching up with LSU, particularly in the post. At this point, seeds go out the window and it comes down to matchups and most favor LSU. Iowa needs a great 3pt shooting night if they are going to advance or LSU has one of their disarray games...It's going to be quite an event and enormous pressure on two very young people.
