Official what games to pay attention to thread...

I just don't see it - their resume is better in every way except we have better wins at the top. Other than that they trump us.

We have to hope the committee stronly considers our second half. the truth is, they change what they look for year to year, so you never know. hell, Andy Glockner also said he thinks UVA could be a surprise omission come Sunday. If the committee does weigh the second half of the year stronger than the first, UVA could be toast.

Are there previous examples of the committee weighing a 2nd half strongly and putting in a team with a bad resume due to that or the addition of a player? Or is it mostly just people assuming?

Because I remember when we got the surprise #2 seed in the NCAAT - we had trailed off at the end of the season and everyone was thinking no higher than a 4 then some how we got a 2.

Depends on what the committee looks for this year to be honest. It's just tough to predict year-to-year.

regarding stokes, it's just what i've heard the talking heads say - and I feel like they're talking from experience. but i don't know for sure

I know - I've heard them say the same stuff - but they've never provided any examples and I can't really think of any over the past 8 or so years.

Being in Joe Lunardi's last 4 in really doesn't mean anything any way when it comes down to selection Sunday. None of the talking heads can accurately predict any of it.

Well it looks like Memphis, Cal, and St Louis are the ones we really need to ride these next couple days. A loss by any one of the three likely results in bid-stealing (although SLU could probably lose to Xavier tomorrow and not have a bid-stealer).

St Louis is in as long as they win tonight - which is no guarantee, should be a good game. But I think the Xavier/Dayton winner is in. So that will be 2 plus Temple

Right. But it could be four if the UMass/Bonny winner takes the title. Which is why St Louis is our friend.

Seth Davis says Marshall could be at large contender as well.

Looking at their profile, I think they're ahead of folks like UCF, Iona, and Oral Roberts (also Washington, on which other folks seem to disagree strongly) but still behind the Tennessees, South Floridas, and Seton Halls of the world. Also NC State and Miami. I can't really see them getting in without one more win (which would be enough for an auto-bid anyways)

Nc state and Miami would need 2 more wins for an auto, not one.
