Miss st would still be ahead of us; so they're really the only ones who'd have any benefit from that.


UT is now around (at best) in the next 4 out category without any more games to play; they're pretty much outside looking in from here on out

I could see UT getting in over Miss St, simply because of the last month.

I know that I'm a big supporter of the "teams get bids; conference don't" saying, but I think the SEC gets five, almost definitely. Mississippi State collapsed, but their resume is still solid for a bubble team, and if Ole Miss loses today, I think Mississippi State will be in. They could be hovering in that last spot; though, so if Ole Miss wins today, I think they jump in and potentially knock MSU-South out.

I get that, but who on earth would be the 5th team?

State: RPI 70+, horrible road record?

And they've got a better resume of Missy and UT, arguably.

I'd rather take Missy than State simply because they didn't go out on a loss to a team like UGA. Even with a loss today.

UT: RPI 84, 3-8 road, SOS 31, 4-7 vs top 50, 7-11 vs top 100, 3 100+ losses.

Missy: RPI 54, 4-8 road, SOS 48, 1-6 vs top 50, 6-11 vs top 100, 1 100+ loss.

Missy looks better right now, although I like UT's top 50 wins.

The RPI is the biggest issue I'm seeing, everything else we are very comparable or better...

If the committee puts ALOT of weight on the last 1-2 months we may get a nod over them.

They have to lose to Vandy though.

Gotta hope that the committee finally looks at the RPI (and teams like SOuthern Miss at 19) and throws it out the window. Ratings like sagarin and kenpom have UT WAAAAY above Miss State and Ole Miss, and rightfully so.

I heard something that supposedly they look at kenpom first.

Where do we stack up there?

How about the BPI, I heard they may look at it.

From last night, our BPI was top 40 if I remember correctly.

It's interesting, if you look at all the advanced ratings, everything has us as a legit NCAA tourney team, except for, sadly, RPI.

I still dont see why we cant have a 5% chance to be in the discussion tomorrow..its the worst bubble of all time...and at least we had some sort of streak going into the conference tournies unlike just about everyone else on the bubble

As I said I heard the committee looks at kenpom before any other rating.

Maybe there's hope.

I think 5-10% is pretty accurate.

Depending on what potential bid stealers do today that percent could go up or down.

The thing that just frustrates me the most is if we just won one game, no matter what else happened the next two days, we would be in serious consideration. I just want it to be 7pm Sunday already so we can get this over with. Like I've said, UAB was only in 11 brackets in the final bracket matrix last year.

You just never know with the committee. I remember reading an article that sometimes it can just take one guy really liking a team and convincing them enough that a certain team belongs.

Keep the faith, you never know. Worst bubble and almost no bid-stealers, who knows. Maybe they'll really take Stokes into consideration and the hot stretch. Just a rough loss in OT.

I'm putting it at 25% right now. JMO.

I'm not going expecting a berth, but it wouldn't shock me if we got one.

After sleeping on it, I still believe we are one of the best 34 at large team out there. I think the tourney concurs.
