oh I agree people should absolutely do what is best for them with their money. I definitely don't espouse upgrading every time Nvidia reconfigures the LEDs on their GPU. I upgrade once every 4/5 years, I get the absolute best I can, and so far I have been able to run everything that comes out at a level where I at least don't notice a problem. The tradeoff for me with a PC/Laptop is I can do a lot more with it than I can with a console. Especially when you have some things like the Steam deck that come out with better graphics than a good number of consoles, and you can carry that in your hand.
Like I said, I just get amused by the people who talk a big graphics game, and then run it on a console. I don't sit around and complain about the price of my rig vs a console, because I have made my decision and that is the tradeoff. So I don't see why people who chose the price side of things should be sitting around complaining about graphics.
Cyberpunk is a perfect example, 80% of the issues of that game was trying to make it backwards compatible for consoles. They literally had to make the game worse, on top of all their other issues, to make sure consoles would play it. I don't see that as a good thing for the industry, or gamers. I had to wait longer, for a worse game, and I had pretty much zero of the issues that plagued a lot of people. Why? Because my rig could handle it. if we had developers that focused on making good games, or at least games as good as they could be. instead of trying to squeeze the most money out of a game they can by making sure an Xbox 1 can run they game; we wouldn't have the issues of games requiring a day 1 patch, or big graphical glitches.
