Officiating at KY

Yes to Both. All of your elite coaches are masters at it.

Exactly and that's my point. Same concept as calipari talking before the game, it was just the same as him doing it during the game, it got the attention of the refs. I fully think his speech had an effect on how the game was called, as you said the good coaches know what strings to pull and what will work. I'm just trying to point out to people his comments to the refs most likely were heard and most likely had an impact on how they called it.

With that said the outcome wouldn't have mattered, I don't wanna start that argument again with people lol.

Cal complains at a lot of stupid fouls. Why? He does it to help the team. Anyone would.

BPC that's my point his pre game speech to the refs was to help his team win as well. Just like when you complain to refs in games it gets you call if you do it right, the same thing went on with his speech.

I think the refs are influenced by Cal in game. I just doubt that a ref will be that influenced before it even starts.

You miss my point, big name teams get calls at home - both sports.

He called us a big name team! There ARE non-UT fans who still believe we're a big name football team!

Gotta celebrate the little things, guys. :)

But on a realistic note, officiating in Rupp/Memorial is a joke at best. One of yall needs to clue Martin in on how to schedule those ref crews, we could use them in TBA. :good!:

That's the problem. We do get them at TBA. That's why we can't beat UK here either. And UK trolls, don't start with the "it wasn't all on the officials" talk, because we played you close in TBA, and maybe if the officiating went our way, we would have won.

It certainly wasn't quite as lopsided in TBA, though.

No **** you are. The unbiased crowd tends to lean more towards the 'eff kentucky' sentiment in the whole officiating debate.

Haters will hate xD

You said "don't start with the "it wasn't all on the officials" talk...". What do you want me to say? That I think UK sucks? I think we get calls but anyone logical knows that UK was firing on all cylinders anyway (for the UT game).

I guess UK fans are above reading posts in full, too. I was referring to the game in Knoxville.

I didnt hear anyone crying about the Knoxville game calls, only the Rupp game.

People usually don't complain about calls that are unbiased and fair, within reason. I can't recall much of an issue with the TBA game - we certainly didn't get the calls, but I wouldn't say the cats did. Thus resulting in a much closer game. The Rupp game was a joke - and it's even worse that Cal came out to the media beforehand and more or less told the refs how he wanted it policed.

Anyone who's watched this Tennessee team can see the only advantage it has over Kentucky is it's physicality. UT's only chance was to get in the paint and bang them around - UK's softer players, the posterchild being Terrence Jones, have trouble playing with them when they're allowed to do this - see TBA game. Within the first 3-5 minutes, the officiating was so terrible and one-sided, the Vols only advantage was taken away.

You should try to see things from an unbiased perspective, at least when posting on the other team's message board.

No they whined. Trust me. I was sitting behind some at TBA and then hear after. There were stretches at TBA where hey literally called a foul on is every trip down the floor, including the bull**** technical.

Maymon set about 27 illegal screens at TBA. Maybe 1 was called. But I think it was 0. The next game he got called for 3. I like maymon, I'd take him in blue n white any day. But u don't just forget how to set solid screens from one game to the next.

+1

the difference in physical play being allowed vs not being allowed was the major difference in the 2 games. i know UK starting 11-11 didnt help, but we whethered that storm, even cut down the lead a bit, but anytime we tried to play our game the whistles blew.

I am the only one seeing from an unbiased view (UK fans). I have said Uk got the calls at Rupp. I dont think Cals comments before the game affected them that much. Maybe during the game.

I was gone most of the day when UK played at UT so i didnt see most of the things talked about after.

Kentucky shot lights out in Rupp. Refs helped a bit, but not a lot.

the lights out shooting could have been attributed to the lack of defense that UT was allowed to play.

as you said and as i have said, UK wins that game either way, but i fully believe that UT can play with KY if the refs let them play, as evidenced in knoxville.

I agree to an extent. I say 10 or so instead of 25.

Yep. 5 guys leaving for next year nba easily.

if all your starters leave you'll have atleast 6 drafted. i dont see vargas being drafted but miller will. probably 5 lottery picks in davis, gilchrist, jones, lamb, and teague. in that order.
