Is it just me or has Clemson really been laying on that “culture” pitch more than ever now that they’ve been exposed the last couple of years as the team everyone knew just feasted on nobodies all year?
IMHO, emphasizing Clemson's culture is a direct response to what Heupel is doing. I'm not a Dabo hater like many here. But he apparently weighed the risks before and took a more subdued approach.

Some here don't like the openly "Christian" flavor of Clemson's culture but Heupel's culture has a similar undercurrent. Obviously it isn't the only way to develop a "winning" college football culture but both of these guys include values informed by their faith.

I like both better than the "culture" at UGA. We will see what wins in the end.

Hadn't seen any film on this kid until this morning, but he looks to have a mean streak in him, relentless in his attack on the d lineman. Pushes his man down the field10-20 yards, or pancakes them. Would be a good get. As far as what shade of orange should he be in next year, no contest; Tennessee orange is so much nicer than Clemson orange.

He has continued to have productive conversations with both sides. As of this morning, little more buzz around the Vols. Was not the case when I spoke with him right after he announced his decision date on social media yesterday. Truly torn is a good way of wording it, and is very true. This one has been a coin flip for a bit and will be all the way until he announces on Friday.

Except for AP. He gave us hints for months Matthews was a Vol. But yes most other analysts and insiders weren’t even giving Vols a chance.
Correct. A lot of national folks and fans thought he was Texas bound but things on our side continued to point to him choosing us.

I hope he is a Vol but won’t be too disocoursged if he goes to Clemson.

However, I am believer that championship programs must land in the top 7-8 recruiting rankings each year. TCU may be the exception, but the SEC is more challenging.

Go Vols!
