i believe he was dismissed last week

He was not dismissed last week. He got a citation for open container, about as serious as jay walking.

There is some chatter this morning that new stuff could come out concerning Bell but so far nothing but rumors.

I read this as well.

I'm not a huge Clay Travis fan, but that's one of the better articles I've read on the subject, and say what you will about the guy, but if he wants to rip you apart he can do it.

I wouldn't want to get in a battle of words against him but I think the guy is an ass. Thank goodness for the TSR app.

they had a team meeting and it has been reported by a few sources that vonn bell was not at the team meeting.. that might mean nothing, but as you said there is a lot of chatter of another legal issue with vonn bell this weekend.

We have a good track record with recruits we wanted really badly going to another school and making a fool out of themselves (Markeith).

From what I understand the team meeting this morning was concerning Hyde being dismissed but I did also hear Bell was not there. The whole Bell thing is weird.

From what I just heard the driver who got the DUI is Vonn's brother Volonte and Vonn was issued an open container citation and may have also got a possession of marijuana charge. I want to emphasize may because this has not been confirmed.

OSU's release terms Hyde as suspended pending the outcome of investigations (student code and criminal):

Meyer announces discipline for four Buckeyes
Separate incidents result in immediate, decisive action

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer today suspended senior running back Carlos Hyde, from Naples, Fla., from all football team activities pending the outcome of the student code of conduct and criminal investigations. Hyde was named in a City of Columbus Police Department report that was issued Monday.

Meyer also took disciplinary action Monday against two freshmen who were involved in legal issues in the past week: tight end Marcus Baugh, from Riverside, Calif., and defensive lineman Tim Gardner, from Indianapolis. He also announced that senior cornerback Bradley Roby, from Suwanee, Ga., will not attend Big Ten media days this week. Roby was involved in a legal issue this weekend in Bloomington, Ind., and, as more information becomes available, could face additional discipline.

“I have a clear set of core values in place that members of this football program are constantly reminded of and are expected to honor,” Meyer said. “There are also expectations with regard to behavior. I expect our players to conduct themselves responsibly and appropriately and they will be held accountable for their actions.”

Baugh has been removed from all team activities and will sit out the first game of the season, Aug. 31 vs. Buffalo, for his arrest last weekend for underage possession of alcohol and possessing a fake identification. His actions will also result in the loss of his summer aid.

Gardner is being sent home and will not be a part of the 2013 team after he was charged Saturday night by Columbus police with obstruction of official business.

“Swift, effective and fair discipline is the standard for our entire athletics program,” Director of Athletics Gene Smith said. “I applaud Coach Meyer for his immediate actions.”

There is nothing Urban Meyer wont tolerate. That instance with Brown was the last straw. If he were a starter or even a contributor I doubt Meyer does much of anything.

"Gary Brown has had a history during his time here of not meeting a set of expectations we have for the student athletes in our football program and therefore he is no longer part of our program,'' said Steve McClain, UF associate athletic director of communications.

yep you are 100% correct.. i was trying to give urban the benefit of the doubt. so they decided it wasn't "dismissed" now it's "indefinitely suspended".

This part is hilarious:

"I have a clear set of core values in place that members of this football program are constantly reminded of and are expected to honor," Meyer said in the release. "There are also expectations with regard to behavior. I expect our players to conduct themselves responsibly and appropriately and they will be held accountable for their actions."

Eh, Travis is hit or miss. If he has a point and facts, he can rip you apart, but he's also the type to turn into a 6 year old really quickly.

I've heard him several times get into it with callers and they start really busting him and he quickly goes to the "You're an idiot!" type responses.

Rumor: Hearing he has been booted off the team. He is their starting running back and on the Doak Walker Award watch list.

How much availability does He have left? I'd love to see Him in a Tennessee uniform He's a damn good back.

I think he would be a senior this year but nothing is for sure yet. The Columbus paper put out a story saying he was dismissed then later the same day OS makes a statement saying he is only suspended pending investigation. Next there is a video that supposedly proves he did not strike them woman, now Ive seen where some say the video proves he did strike her. Who knows.

This is the age of instant news, everyone wants to be first and no one verifies the story.
