But I believe Evan Berry will get a look at tb. I believe that he will be the best of this incoming crop of freshman. I Also believe Moseley is way under rated and will indeed start opposite cam sutton at cb. Evan Berry is going to make a huge impact as will mosely. Those two along with Hurd and Malone will make us better.:good!:

I have learned over 40 years of following the incoming freshman that some 5 star recruits turn into 3 stars and a 2 star was the best of the bunch, out of the 32 recruit maybe 23 or 24 will make it, in 2 years we will know, when you think you know you don't, just like Carr and the kid from Florida both big DT coming in I though by there junior year our DTs would be in good shape neither is on the team just kick back and go with the flow and hope we hit on about 25 of them.

Look at the "Beattie" posts, look at the # of posts and likes, along with this absolute candidate for top 10 dumbest posts on VN of all time above (Berry a TB, who even uses TB these days???) (and that says something after the Gruden wackjobs were unleashed) and it doesn't take much to figure out good ol' Beattie is nothing but your very average troll doing what trolls do.

So based on percentage, Beattie has more likes per post than you... and he's trolling?

Are we forgetting about Scott? Am I missing something here? he was a highly recruited 4 star RB that I thought would contribute some this year... urban cryer had compared him to Percy Harvin as far as his play making ability, if I remember correctly.

The Early entry Offensive players made it very obvious that we had shortcomings on Defense, since the vast majority of those were on Offense. He said that those coming in this summer are a majority... Defense.

He said that one Berry would start out at DB and the other at nickel back, and was optimistic they would contribute on Special Teams early due to speed.

He was chomping at the bit to get these defensive guys on campus.

I have paraphrased since I don't do well with exact quotes.

Certainly you have better things to do on Memorial Day than sit at home and dream s^%t like this up? Jeez.

Its possible that some sit around and drink too much over the holidays..... I use some previous posts as examples. (mine too)

Not that I would do anything like that.... &....
Not that there is anything wrong with that.....

I am by no means saying that I think Evan Berry will be spending time in the offensive backfield, but I also don't think it's a ridiculous notion. CBJ runs a MUCH different offense than our previous HCs. If Fulmer was still the HC, there is no way in the world Berry would ever spend time at RB. However, Butch's offense needs speed and elusiveness in the backfield to be successful. If he feels like he is not getting that from the current crop of RBs, I wouldn't put it past him to take a look at some guys who played RB in high school. That being said, I think CBJ is fairly comfortable with what he has at RB. I'm excited to see Berry in Orange on Saturdays, regardless of whether he is in the backfield or secondary...maybe both? :p

While I wouldn't think it will be at RB, I could easily see the brothers Berry being thought of as the cream of this year's class at a later date. Too much family talent to ignore.

We have 5 RBs on the roster...that doesnt include they guys that just got/are getting to campus.

Jalen, a RB, who has already been practicing "remains to be seen." But a kid who doesnt even play rb has a shot?

Come on not...

I know that I'm thinking WAAAAYYYYY outside the box, but what about Pig Howard moving to outside Linebacker.

I'll hang up and listen.........................

Well he has the speed. But not much ass to make a tackle. And an outside pass rush through the offensive tackle; well I would say "Advantage Tackle".

Let's just say bad idea.

did he ever play rb in hs? any basis for the thought or just an out of season random rumination?

At one time during his recruitment, Evan supposedly stated he might rather play on offense. It was suggested it had something to do with targeting rules.

I think he did play RB in HS. I saw his and Elliot online for their championship game. But I don't remember if he got many carries. One of them tweaked an ankle, and I think it was Evan.

Evan Berry will likely see snaps at QB now that there is an unsubstantiated rumor about Ferguson leaving

While we are at it, move Charles Mosley to Fullback, Helm to QB, and Blair to safety. Yeah, that'll work!

Even though he may have great speed and talent and look good at the running back position, i do believe he will play were we need him which would be defense. We all know he has great speed and could be good at RB, but one thing you also have to look at is depth. we have great depth at RB this year but not so much at DB. We need him on defense more than ever. I do believe he is going to be awesome at that position.

I could see him playing as a WR and getting the ball on a swing or being motioned into the backfield and being thrown a wheel route out of the backfield like the Bransiel pass play in the Georgia game. I'd be more inclined to believe he could start and the D though.

I think I remember seeing that Evan wanted to play Offense. But I think with his speed and quickness he could be great at CB. I just hope we don't waste his talent on offense just getting scrap time when he could possibly be a starter on D.

I agree on scrap time, but if could be one of our best at wr,RB, or qb, I'm for it. This kid is going to be our best 1st year player!

Evan is severely under rated as a low 4 star. Him and his brother both are top 100 recruits if they participated in as many camps as other recruits. Even will be a solid CB this year, with help on ST as well. His brother elliot will be a big hitting safety or a speed demon LB.
