1. We knew this team was going to have some offensive woes, but 45 points, that's bad. To shoot 26% from the field and set a new low point total for the Puerto Rico tournament is never a good thing.

2. I don't care if he's double or triple teamed, in 3 games this year Jarnell has not looked like a guy who's leaving early for the NBA draft, and that continued today. 7pts 4rbd in 28 minutes against Jurick won't impress any NBA scout.

3. You can say the 10:30 start time bothered them all you want, bottom line is Oklahoma had to start the exact same time as we did and they had no issues bringing the intensity.

4. This team HAS got to learn how to play without fouling, it has been an issue in all 3 games and against better teams like Okie State you can't do that and expect to win. They scored 23 points from the free throw line and were in the bonus 5 minutes into the second half, hard to come back when the other teams in the bonus.

5. Our ugly perimeter shooting from last year reappeared today...5/23 22%, not good numbers at all.

6. We once again get outrebounded, and this time by double digits. Rebounding was supposed to be a strength of this team and right now it's not...I'll repeat from above, Jarnell has got to be better rebounding, 4 is pathetic.

7. Our turnovers weren't horrible, only 11, but with only 5 assists it's obvious the ball just wasn't moving like it should. Trae has 2 assists and 1 turnover, we need much better production from him in terms of assists.

8. I thought defensively we were decent, when we weren't fouling. Hell we held them to 62 points, and 23 of those came from the foul line, not too shabby.

9. It appears CCM has lost some faith in Armani. After a travel call in which Armani made a nice move to the basket, CCM pulled him and I don't believe Moore saw action again. We went with McRae at the point and that's not something anyone hoped to see.

10. Speaking of McRae, if I'm giving a player of the game I give it to him. Thought he was one of the only guys to take it to the rim with intent to score in the second half, would like to see him keep that mindset going forward.

**extra** we need Maymon back, this game made it glaringly obvious. A lot of the issues I mention above, he helps with, especially the rebounding and consistent scoring. These lulls of 5 minutes without a basket, that's where we really miss him. Without Jeronne this team is going to have trouble scoring some nights and is probably a borderline NCAA team that doesn't have the fire power to make a run...with Maymon a think they're a solid seed with a chance of making a run.

Shoutout to Z for letting me do this one, hopefully he'll be back Sunday and I didn't disappoint him too much.

We are just not that good yet. Not having Maymon is killing us. i don't see it getting better in Puerto Rico. UMass or NC st will whoop us

How would you assess the coaching so far?

Martin was specifically asked about Moore in the post game. He said Moore's PT was not a reflection of his confidence in him.

10. I didn't see the game but by looking at the box score it must have been pretty ugly if McRae was your MVP. 1-8 FG and 0-3 3pt. Though I must admit no one else stands out as having played better from the stats.

Let's be fair to Stokes.
He's actually in the second half of his freshman season and instead of Maymon, he has Hall beside him.
Incidently, when you see Kenny walking up the floor on the first possession of the game you can book it - he's a no show.
Without Maymon, this is at best an average offensive team.
Can they over achieve (late) like last season? who knows.

I thought we were supposed to have a decent team this year. Those were the same pussywillows that lost to MTSU. Except the ones that were out there were supposed to be healthy this time. Disgusting. They definitely miss Maymon, but that game was and is an atrocity.

I've seen a few people touting the final score as proof that we played a good defensive game. OK State completely took the air out of the ball for almost the last 10 minutes of the game. In the second half it seemed like they were spreading us out and getting the the rim at will. IMO they could have put a lot more points on the board if they'd kept pushing the pace. We just showed no ability to stop the dribble drives in the second half.

They shot 42%, scored 62 points and 23 of those came from the line...the defense wen we weren't fouling was pretty good.

If you hold a team under 65, under 45% from the field and under 30% from three you should win...we did all 3 and lost handily.

Fair enough, I just remember our back court getting abused off the bounce for most of the second half. It felt more like they were stopping themselves than us stopping them.

Pretty much my take. However, I really didn't see a positive. I don't think there were any players of the game. They all equally stunk up the gym.

Were were outrebounded, outhustled, outshot and outcoached. Plain and simple. One of the worst games, if not the worst, I've seen in the Martin era.

I think Martin will get them headed in the right direction and getting Maymon back will help but it's not every game where you see UT not being the more physical team and today Ok St was by a longshot. Just a bad game all the way around. Again, as I said earlier, I'd be embarrassed for putting that product on the floor today.

Don't worry CCM is a great coach. Ignore the fact that when this guy was announced you all said, "What's a Cuonzo?" Ignore the fact that this guy claims to run a motion offense with no motion. (Especially when all the good teams are running the high ball screen.) Ignore the fact that he never led a team to the tourney. Ignore the fact that UT was facing potential disaster from the NCAA and were limited in who would take the job. Ignore the fact that the UTAD was a complete mess and whipped together some hodge podge internal search team consisting of an outgoing AD from the Lady's side who never even hired a women's bball coach.

I think Cuonzo's personal story (and it is a great one) has endeared him to many people. That's cool, but it doesn't mean he can coach a lick. I've seen nothing in his past or time at UT that makes me thing this guy is a top level coach. In fact the most 'top level' think about him is the fact that he is the coach at UT.

I agree with you about McCrae. He was the only one attacking the basket and trying to make things happen. The refs were obviously really whistle happy on drives into the lane. He was the only one taking advantage in the second half for us.

I'm beginning to think you have an personal agenda. Did Martin run over your dog on his way into Knoxville or something?
