Oklahoma to "stripe the stadium"

It is but it's above the visitor section from what my boss has told me. So our fans take the heat rather than the players apparently.

Visitors section is not close to the student section. Some in the south endzone and some (plus the band if you bring one) at the south end of the east sideline.

Well is the student section on the eastside as well? If we're behind our own bench then the students wouldn't be behind our bench as well, right? The visiting team is on the East sideline right? I tired determining where everything is before purchasing a ticket to make sure I didn't wind up buying a student ticket but y'all's seating map and description did a horribly poor job explaining it.

That would seem the easiest to stripe!! But I forgot, they are from Oklahoma.

How's that the easiest to stripe without shirts waiting for us? There's no assigned seating for the student section. I will admit though, it looks dumb having a giant red blob while the rest of the stadium is striped.

Visitors band/parent section is section 35. The actual visitors section is 36 and 40. Student section for OU is 26-30, but the only front rows of the student section are 27 and 28 as the band is the front row in 29 and parents of OU are in the front row of 30 I believe. So it's still somewhat apart.

I'm in 37 so guess none of it concerns me haha.

What's the security like in terms of sneaking in liquor? Is it a thorough pat down or pretty easy to get it by? I usually drop a couple airplane bottles in my sock or boots at Neyland and have no issues.

No pat downs but if you wear any extra clothes they ask you to take them off so they can see. If they see you in the stands with the alcohol they will say something as well. I'm sure plenty have snuck things in, especially WVU fans last year, but it's mild on the strictness

They search small bags. No pat downs. Just don't put it in your purse.

I might know a thing or two about that :)

Bags are checked. No bottles or anything like that. No wand downs, but don't make it plainly obvious you are hiding something. We know booze gets in, just don't be a moron about it.

Come in Gate 1. Easiest to get to your section and generally the least wait.

believe its 84k.

A sellout is considered 82k, OU averages around 85k. Home opener was 85072 I believe. The most we've had was 85242 which was ND a couple years ago. It will likely be 85k Saturday. New renovations will start and be completed in a couple years. That might add some more seating.

From what I heard it won't significantly. But it will bowl in the entire stadium and make the seating a little larger.

Their goal isn't to make it bigger and they will make seating bigger (Thank goodness) but they haven't decided 100% on what they're doing. Designs with actual details will be done in a month so we'll know more soon.

Never a moron about it. Never been caught at Neyland in 10+ years! Put it in the sock when wearing pants and keep it in there until mixing in the bathroom stall. At SEC stadiums it's so easy and common place, just didn't know how other conferences/regions react. Maybe I'm a drunk but I couldn't imagine watching a game without enjoying a nice Jack and Coke.

Have fun finding a restroom. We only have 7 in the whole stadium... LOL

Already seeing the differences between the SEC and everyone else. In the South, a stadium bathroom is as much a bar as it is a place to relieve yourself. Airplane bottles strewn everywhere after kickoff. :)

Looks like I have one right in front of me in section 36. That'll work great.

That is something that sucks about your section. There are no bathrooms nearby. But trust me on coming in Gate 1. Gates 10 and 11 are generally crammed, but if you come west on Lindsey and go up Asp (bookstore on the map) the gate generally clears out within about 20 minutes of opening and it's a breeze to get in. Technically it's the visitor gate anyway.

ETA: I see our Sooners have already informed you of the latrine situation lol

Also, for those that need such an animal, there is no smoking inside the stadium or on campus. Supposed to be a no tobacco or e-cig policy, but dip isn't really enforced.

Map shows one in section 36. Is it still there?

We don't even offer alcohol in the stadium which to me is weird. Main reason is because of all the young kids. They feel if they offered alcohol it wouldn't be as family friendly even though everyone drinks during tailgating.
