OL depth

You’re answering your own questions.
Yea Heupel decided to run right at them to salt the clock away, and take home the W.

Also, 3.8 x 3 = 11.4 yards. First down VOLS!
That wasn’t Kent State we ran against.
That was one of the top run defenses in the entire country.

He was preparing them for Georgia…
Am I? I like the strategy to run and put the game in the hands of the defense. But I didn’t see more than 6 in the box when I thought to look for it and yet we didn’t seem to open up many holes. I thought we were better than that, but maybe OU is just that good on defense

As I said- they are one of the best run defenses in the country. That’s a fact. So they were good.
But our run defense was better!

we STILL out rushed them.

From a recruiting standpoint- they were the more talented team. I counted 20 guys on their roster that UT legitimately wanted.

They’re a QB away from being a Top 10 team playoff contender.

That's the one question I have about this staff. Why, in year 4, do we not have better OL depth? Most of our starters are transfers, and while it appears we have recruited well on OL, Sham is the only one that appears ready to contribute (and he is hurt).
Who are we comparing our depth too?

How many college teams do you know that have 3 Left tackles they can roll out against OU, UGA, or BAMA and have no drop off?

A very valid question. We are lacking an elite OL or this could be the best team in the nation. The lack of depth is unsatisfactory for year 4. Even the starting 5 if healthy is not a dominant group. It is what it is, maybe they’ll be good enough despite the OL. Just compare the job Garner has done to Elarby and ask yourself if there’s a difference.

I'm not comparing our depth against anyone. You don't think it is a concern that we don't have any of these guys (HS recruits, not transfers) that have been in the system for two years or more ready to step up? Our OL is made up of Pruitt recruits and transfers. It's year 4. Why do we not have third year guys ready to step up?
