MSNBC suspends Keith Olbermann indefinitely – The TV Guy – Orlando Sentinel

Olbermann suspended without pay. I wonder whether Fox has a similar policy. If they do, I wonder why they don't enforce it as it is reproted that 30 of their on air personalities contribute or raise money for political candidates. And if they don't have such a policy, I wonder why not....

Actually, I suspect that they don't given that they have given a million to conservatives this year.

Fair and balanced ... what a crock. At least MSNBC is taking some action on this, as they should. Over at Fox, they are still drunk celebrating "their" win on Tuesday.

Maybe Keith should put in an app at Fox.

I know you are offering an olive branch but he shows no sign of being better than that.

I truly believe he gets a woody from making stupid comments like this, sits back to read the reactions and strokes it.

this is coming from a guy who said the people at MSNBC were "real reporters". laughable. as far as drunk celebrating, funny that he's crying about it after the liberals celebrated like none other when Obama was elected.

LG is also on record saying that Olbermann's show was well researched and always presented the facts.

I think you are correct except for your exemption of CNN and other news networks. They are ALL biased. Some are just more subtle than others. MSNBC and Fox are both more honest than CNN, ABC, CBS, et al.

FTR, according to stats on American political views, Fox is the most "mainstream" of them all. This is a right of center country and Fox is a right of center network. ALL of the rest are left of center or sharply left of center. This is why Fox has more viewers than the other cable networks combined.

I didn't leave the other networks out or excuse them, at least that wasn't my intention. I just used these two networks to make a simple point and while I agree there are networks that lean left to varying degrees there are other sources of media that resemble that from the right.

My point is most thinking and intellectually honest Americans know where these varying sources of media fall on the political map. The problem is it often seems there are too few intellectually honest Americans when it comes to politics these days, or at least it seems that way to me.

Politico reported Friday that Olbermann had donated $2,400 each to Reps. Raul Grijalva and Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona, and to Kentucky Senate contender Jack Conway. While NBC News policy does not prohibit employees from donating to political candidates, it requires them to obtain prior approval from NBC News executives before doing so.

Anything else you big dummy?

Rick Scarbrough gave $4,000 to republicans. Sean Hannity literally hosts fundraisers for republican candidates. Television personalities are allowed to make political contributions. This is just a pissing match between the heads at MSNBC and Olbermann. Let's not be stupid with this.

Thanks for your words of wisdom Ed. He could not function without you and LG.
NOW....if you will actually read....no one is saying that he can not make the contributions.

Their policy requires him to tell the "senior" heads. It's no different at any company. You report to someone. Wicked Clown is no different. Get a clue.

so everyone will know, my post above was a retread of LG's post on a thread in the Around the NCAA forum where he addressed the same words to Vol fans.

Fox allows their hosts to give contributions as long as they disclose this when they have the people on their show.
