I miss old school Big East basketball!
It was legit when I was a kid.
Patrick Ewing, Chris Mullin, Sleepy Floyd, Mark Jackson to Derrick Coleman, Alonzo Mourning, Mutombo...
That was some premier college basketball!
without a doubt
think we will find ourselves facing UConn and/or the Pitinos in tourney?

Ok, I’ll chime in here with my 2c for the “have to be over .500 in conf play” advocates.

Other than Cinderella tourney winners (I support auto bids) don’t we all want to see the BEST 64 teams in the tourney? Best, most deserving, whatever you call it.

Work with me on an absurd hypothetical here. Math dictates that half of the teams in a conference will be over and half under 500. (On average, dumb stuff happen when 2 teams lose every game or whatnot). So, absurdity: every team in the NFC East would crush any NCAA team (yes, even the Giants.) They are now in the NCAA because why not. The Eagles are in the field of 12. So too the Skins (command strips or whatever). The Cowboys and Giants AREN’T among the top 12? Of course they are. They should be in with a losing record.

What a stupid argument you say. Sure. But SEC baseball is darn near that dominant compared to the rest of the NCAA. The 9th of 16 from the most dominant league shouldn’t be excluded because they are under 500. That’s an arbitrary, and irrelevant to the top 64, stat.

IMNSHO
6 SEC teams finished above .500. The rest finished 13-17 or worse. 6 would have been deserving and that’s good enough for me. Tough titties to the rest of those losers. And two of those teams lost their first SECT game so technically they finished 13-18. I’m sorry but nobody will ever be able to convince me being 5 games under .500 in your conference is deserving of a NCAAT bid.

The game of the decade.
I remember I was at a high school party, and it was unusual to have a basketball game on. But this was so big at the time. Everyone was watching.

Noted.

6 outta 14. Basically, by the math in a season where the Vols were so dominant. So, it’s irrelevant to you that you played in a league with 3 CWS teams, plus Arky and LSU at the top and several other top 25 teams.

You get 10 conf series this season. 8 are vs top 25 teams (you’re also ranked #24). You don’t have a winning record in the 30 games. Clearly you’re worse than 64 teams in college. You won’t get me to agree to that.

Arkansas hosted a regional and allowed a 3 and 4 seed to play said regional final. They also got eliminated by 4 seed SEMO. Vanderbilt couldn’t even win a regional game and got eliminated by 4 seed High Point. Alabama also couldn’t even win a regional game and got eliminated by 4 seed Stetson. Oklahoma, now in the SEC, hosted and allowed a 3 seed UConn to win their regional. South Carolina couldn’t even make their regional final and got eliminated by a 3 seed. Just the facts 🤷‍♂️

Remember how easily Patrick Ewing could palm a basketball?

My late uncle was a graduate of Georgetown. When Patrick Ewing was going to school there, my uncle went for some alumni event and Ewing was his tour guide. When they shook hands, my uncle said Ewing‘s hands were so large he thought without a little effort, Ewing could’ve touched his thumb to the tip of his middle finger, engulfing my uncle’s hand.

2 of those have been under Rick Barnes. But some people want to act like we are basketball blue blood and lose their 💩 whenever we don’t make a Final 4.
Tennessee is a blue blood in football and women’s basketball imo.

I think a lot of people don’t really understand that term.

MTSU AD gets to be on the CFP committee. That douche from Michigan is finally gone. Baylor AD is now the chairman.

New head of the Committee is Baylor AD. Get ready for individuals to go full crazy mode screaming Big 12 biased...🤦🤦

Women's Basketball most definitely going by consistency and # of Championship.
