She’s a curvy number.

Explained further:

In baseball, the phrase “putting up a crooked number” refers to a team scoring multiple runs in a single inning, typically more than one. The term “crooked number” comes from the visual representation of numbers on a scoreboard. A “crooked” number is any number that’s not a single digit (i.e., 2, 3, 4, 5, etc.), as opposed to a “straight” number like 1.

So, if a team scores, say, 3 or more runs in an inning, someone might say they “put up a crooked number.” It’s a way to describe an inning in which the offense puts together a productive rally, leading to a significant increase in their score.

I do like crooked numbers, now that you put it that way

One of my proudest moments in my life is definitely witnessing the @chuckiepoo rally bewbz post before it was swiftly removed, it’s up there with being in attendance at the Drew Gilbert grand slam, bama 52-49, and Mashack buzzer beater games.
This was all of us that morning. What’s gonna happen to CP?

Professor, not many of us witnessed it and now it’s a thing of legend and will be passed down from generation to generation.
Agree that it’s up there with the Gilbert slam, Lofton’s 3 over Kevin Durant and the Stoerner fumble.
Ok ok, I wasn’t there for the Stoerner fumble but I can pretend, like the other 800k Vol fans that were in attendance.

Not going lie, I watched the game on T.V. .....the fumble that saved the season...

I also watched the Stoerner fumble game on TV, at a bar on 6th street in Austin, not yet having any affiliation with the real UT

I don’t even think anyone triple double dog dared him?
He just strolled into the dugout and smashed the post reply button without hesitation like a boss!

Wasn’t it in a regional game thread or something? One might argue that it was the post that started it all.

According to Chat GPT

As of now, there have been 27 instances of back-to-back NCAA Division I baseball national championships since the College World Series (CWS) began in 1947.

Given that 77 College World Series have been held (1947–2023), the percentage of back-to-back champions is:

\frac{27}{77} \times 100 \approx 35.1\%

So, about 35.1% of NCAA baseball champions have successfully defended their title the following year.
Sorry if someone else has already pointed out the fallacy of ‘66s post; just now reviewing the thread from the last 24 hours.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is why I will never trust artificial intelligence. MAD’s post provided an excellent review of the major college baseball repeat champions. 6 teams have repeated as champs, one of whom won 5 years in a row - I.e., 4 repeats. As such there have been 9 times a team has repeated as champion.

I can only assume ChatGPT’s logic is flawed to come up with 27 occurrences, or possibly it also counted lower division championships from back in the 1A and 1AA days. (Upon further review, it appears the 1A and 1AA distinctions only applied to football, so I don’t know how in the world ChatGPT came up with 27.)
