Great movie! A few years after The Green Mile was released, I was fishing the Caney Fork River (where one of the infamous scenes from The Green Mile was filmed) out of a pontoon style float tube. It was propelled by oars and flippers attached to your wading boots. Thus, it’s a one-way trip when they are generating at the dam on Center Hill Lake. Long story short, I ended up hitch hiking back to my SUV with a farmer (and his dog) who happened to host the film crew for Green Mile at his farm. He told me that ”those Hollywood directors and actors were a different breed” and they gave him a VHS copy of the movie. He told me he had to turn it off due to the bad language. He was a character and his farm was a couple hundred acres and had been in his family for a couple of generations.
Very cool story

I have one issue with Houston. Just because my wife's family lives there, her dad was pulling for U of H over Tennessee. However, I would think a good grandfather should be pulling for their grandson's team! Especially when the grandsons care a lot more about it than you do. So, I've got a problem with that! But, now we have the freaking Florida Gators on the other side, so I guess I have no choice, ugh.

My other issue with my father in law, when the falcons were up 28-3, he texted me to say “your team is gonna win the Super Bowl!” All his fault 🤬

Unforgivable.

I about lost it on my mom in ‘95 when Peyton took the bama monkey off our backs, threw it down and murdered it in a way the Humane Society still hasn’t forgiven him for.

She walks in late in the third and we’re up 21. She says, “oh, looks like we’re finally gonna beat em.” I had some serious apologizing to do for the way I responded to her behavior.

After the win, of course. Idk if I could have apologized if we’d blown it.

Everyone should be taught this at an early age

To be fair…..

I was suffering serious Deja vu. Just one year earlier, true (and old) VFLs will remember what happened. Down like 5 or so (fg loses, TD wins) freshman Peyton Manning leads the ‘94 Vols in a desperation two minute drive. Clockwork, right down the field. Unstoppable. Bama on their heels. First and goal at the 4!!!!!! Under a minute but plenty of time for 4 plays!

Ring. Ring ring. One of my best friends calling.

“Hello?”

“Peyton Manning, baby!!!!! Freshman QB that took down bama!!!!!! Wooooooooo!!!!!”

I hung up.

No, I still haven’t forgiven him.

With only 152 games to go, the Tigers control their own destiny.

I should really text him now and get my revenge, but he probably wouldn’t get it, and I don’t want to help… that other team.
