Ole Miss in trouble with the NCAA

They probably released it when they did in an effort to help Saban close on some guys.

Blue font (kinda, sorta, maybe).

At least the recruits have a few days to look around. They have a lot of early enrollees though. Wonder if the NCAA would give them a special waiver to transfer without sitting out a year if this turns out to be major violations?

What a development. Recruits might not be affected till next year. As ncaa made this official or just allegations at this point

Enjoy those ncaa penalties. I'm happy to not have to worry about those again with Butch at the helm.

All it takes is for the 'AA to make formal allegations. It will factor in the minds of at least part of their class this year.

Ole Miss fans are saying "most of the violations are in women's sports so it doesn't matter."

Most of the violations in Memphis' 2009 NOA were related to the women's golf and track programs, but it was always about the Rose/SAT thing. Same applies here. We all know who the NCAA is really looking at.

I'm just glad that dog is hunting somewhere other than Knoxville for a change

They are saying any football allegations are falling under Houston Nutt and not Hugh Freeze. The bulk of the potential violations are going to fall on the women's basketball team though.

This means absolutely nothing if the sanctions are serious enough. The Albert Means stuff at Bama happened under DuBose, but DuBose had already been fired before the NCAA sent notice.

I doubt the NCAA is going to do a thing, because they are impotent now. But the fact that the violations may have occurred under a previous coach doesn't make a difference if the statute of limitations isn't up.

The only other violation involving football and the current staff would be Laremy Tunsil accepting money.

While Ole Miss is absolutely dirty, nothing will come of this. The NCAA is out of the enforcement game. This is simply about keeping up appearances.

This is the truth! If the ncaa really gave a s@&t bama would have been buried in sanctions about 5 years ago. Cheating happens at every school, it's just amazing how blantly some do it and get away with it.

I guess that Ole Miss bounty hunter that was mentioned on a thread here a while back, did his job
