ole miss vs jax state

Your argument is terrible. You're basically saying that the preseason polls is where everyone starts, and after that strength of schedule does not matter. It's just a ladder where you only move down if you lose. Unfortunately, a lot of people vote that way. A big problem with the current system for determining the champion is the argument you just made.

My argument is logical. If 1 and 2 are from bcs conferences and they end that way then neither should get dropped in the polls. The current system has only failed 1 time IMO (2001).

Ole Miss should've won this by at least 25.

But you don't play the game on paper. You play it on the field, and Ole Miss quit after the first half.

Oklahoma lost to Kansas St in their conference title game the year Auburn went undefeated and still went to the NC. But don't let facts get in the way of your argument.

Oklahoma lost to K-State in '03. Auburn's undefeated run was in '04.

Your argument is extremely flawed.

What if USC and Ohio State start the year 1-2 and both go undefeated, beating three ranked teams each? Meanwhile, an SEC team, say Florida or Alabama, also goes undefeated, and beats five ranked teams? Are you saying you'd be happy with the SEC Champion getting left out in this scenario?

The national champion should not be decided with a preseason poll. I honestly don't think there should be any polls until at least the third week to keep teams from having a pre-set advantage.

What if the team that starts the season #1 loses their third game and drops a few spots but stays above an undefeated team that started the season outside the Top 25? Are you saying that undefeated team should have no chance of passing the 1-loss team if the 1-loss team wins out, just because they started the year far behind them?

Did the system fail when Florida jumped Michigan in 2006, even though Michigan didn't play that week? It's a good thing enough voters chose the SEC Champion over the team that began the week with the higher ranking.

If only they had decided to listen to the student body and taken Admiral Ackbar as their mascot. He would have warned them that Jacksonville St was a trap.

They had to vacate the win, not the title. There is a difference.

Not really, I'm pretty sure being told you're win in a championship game is being vacated pretty much means your title is vacated, the AP already stripped the NC from USC.

Why in the world is this getting so much attention? Little bitty Jax state beat an Ole Miss team that's not very good, on a last second desperation play. And this makes espn headlines? Are we this desperate for the under dogs to get attention?

The BCS could have revoked USC's title if they wanted. They chose not to. USC still has the trophy.
