I think if UT goes 11-1 with a close loss to UGA, and UGA beats Bama in the SEC championship game, UT has a chance to be that 2nd SEC team in the playoff. But they would need Clemson and TCU to lose, then hopefully they’d get in over 1 loss Michigan (assuming Ohio State goes undefeated), Clemson, Oregon, Okie St (unless they lose today to Texas), etc.
