On recent football events...

In fairness, point #3 was original.

I still can't believe there's a basketball thread.

you've made comments about the football forum in the past and now you bring it here to make fun of posters who comment on the coaching search. Of course should someone come in and do the same in the bball forum you would try to run them out.

I'm certainly not trying to make fun of anyone. I've just been expressing my contentedness with Jones.

It seems like the issue is that you hate my guts, and you try to slam me any time I step out of the bball forum. At this point, you're the only one who thinks I'm trolling. You should know that I would proudly proclaim that I'm trolling if I was. Just give it a rest man. Don't respond to my stuff if it makes you that upset.

if you were sincere then you never would have added

to say hi over here in the dildo war room.
and for the record I read most posts without even looking at who the OP is (because in actuality I don't care). The response I gave you is no different than the ones you gave others who ventured into the basketball forum in an effort to become real basketball fans.

I will consider your second point and believe it if I see evidence in the future.

On your first point, I would definitely consider the bball forum to be a dildo war room as well. You've seen the butthurt over there, I'm sure. It's just not the double-ended magnum dildo that the football forum is.

Hate to boast, but I think this is a pretty great analogy.

Hey guys, I'm gonna take my annual stroll out of the basketball forum to say hi over here in the dildo war room. Just wanted to say a couple things:

You guys are absolutely crazy. Years ago, the majority was super pumped about Dooley for reasons I will never understand. The guy had no credibility and a bad record; there was never any reason to believe he could succeed.

On the other hand, we actually make a decent hire with Butch Jones, and people are acting like it's the worst possible choice. He wasn't my first pick, but when you get turned down by Strong and Gruden, I sincerely fail to see how Jones was a bad hire. At least Jones gives you a reason to believe he can succeed.

Lastly, why the hell are people so butthurt about Tee Martin? He's just a positions coach. Who cares if he'd rather stay at a winning program as opposed to the sh*t storm that is UT football.

You guys are absolutely nuts, and the past few weeks have re-illustrated how unreasonable a lot of UT fans are.

Take your mind off football, and go support your basketball team. If our bball team received as much fan support as the football team, our program could easily be catapulted to the next level.

Kudos to you!!

Is the next level being able to score 40 points in a game?

Derek passed the DNA test. Or have you never heard of Vince Dooley?

I could be wrong, but last time I checked, Derek Dooley is actually not Vince Dooley. The key is that they are 2 different people, and you can tell them apart because one calls himself Vince, while the other calls himself Derek.

Now if we had hired Vince before he became a pile of dust, then there would be reason to believe we could succeed.

I never understood the whole "clicky" thing around here. I love both basketball and football but prefer basketball over football. I still cheer just as loud for the football boys as I do for basketball so unless you just don't like the sport, I don't understand why some people talk down to the other sport. I think what Chris was trying to say is if people can put this much energy in getting so upset over Tee and the coaching search to voice such a concern, it would be nice to see some of that being put into backing the basketball program. We got an awesome fanbase and I wish sometimes we had as much passion for basketball as we do football.

I definitely admit that I was pretty butthurt in the off season with the dissing of the program, but Shaun hit the nail on the head in regards to my sentiment of this thread.

If you were here for TBOX, I hope you had fun! I love it here year round, but it's a TON better between April and September when it's warmer.

LMAO :eek:lol:  :loco:

No, I was there hanging with my sister in law and her husband, but we did go up to Wrigleyville so I could see the stadium, and the moment I stepped off the Red Line, I looked like this --->

And I thought, "Wtf is going on here? These people are outta their damn minds!" When I found out what it was, it all made sense.

I'd love to go up there and sit on the rooftop seats for one game, and in the stadium for another for a Braves/Cubs series. Would be great.

It is a blast to watch a game at Wrigley. If you get the chance, DO IT. Plus, with the dumpster fire that is Cubs baseball, your team is bound to win!

I used to be a UT basketball fan. Had season tickets and all. Then they ruined it too.

You completely overlooked the operative expression - DNA! In other words, at the time Derek was being considered as a candidate by UT, many football pundits were touting him as an up-and-comer largely due to his genetics in spite of the fact that his résumé was short. That speaks to the rationale for giving him a shot.

Personally, I was wary of the Jones hire when I first saw the news. But, the more I learn about the guy, the more I like him. I think he'll work out OK.

I've never been a big BBall fan, but I still watch every game I can (the games always seem to come on when I'm busy). My passion for UT football cannot be matched. This however doesn't mean I won't support the BBall team, I just don't get the same joy/heartbrokeness over a win/lose watching bball that I do for football.

ps...I agree with CBJ being a good hire, we need to get over Tee, and people should support the BBall team more.
