One thing I think everybody would agree on.  No matter what you think of the playcalling or the offense we are REALLY due to pop a big play.  I can't ever remember a stretch of games where we had fewer big gains.

I agree. I dont see us beating UGA without at least 2 passes of 40 yards or more.

Very good point. And that play will motivate these guys like none other.

I don't think we necessarily need the big play . . . just saying we are due to get lucky and have a DB fall down or something.

I just dont really see a typical Ut offense getting the win.

Why not it won in LA, would have in Fl if we had been committed to the right QB then.

I think we will have to hold UGA to 10 points or less to get the win, first off. LSU's DB's have been overestimated completely, they looked utterly helpless against Arizona State's passing attack and struggled against Rick. UGA's pass defense will not be as bad.

What I think our offense lacks is the explosive capability... We can truck down field sometimes, but without good returns to give us a shorter field from time to time, and without any threat of a big play here and there, our offense is still unthreatening. It's bad times. We need either better returning or a big play threat for Fulmer offense to be more effective.

Alright... 10 points was too few. 14. I think if UGA puts up any more than two TD's we're gonna have a very very tough game to pull out.

Don't underestimate the effect of DJ Shockley having to go on the road in a big time environment for the first time. I know he's gotten some snaps prior to this year, but this will be the first time he has had to lead the team in a place like Neyland.

In all fairness, he did have to play at Miss State with all those stupid cowbells.

 I don't think so. I will honestly be shocked if the point total for both teams exceeds 35 in this game.

So, UT has problems and there is no way they can snap out of it? Is that what you are saying Milo?

how can u say Neyland is a tough environment anymore. If Georgia scores first or even takes a 7 or more pt. lead u could hear a church mouse fart in that place

Maybe, but if things start going bad, I can see Shockley looking bad. The only secondary he has faced was SC, and they made him look very average.

Why Georgia ever threw a pass against us blew my mind. hey were getting 7-8 yards a carry on the ground(as did 'Bama and Auburn to a point). If UT contains Shockley and forces him to read the defense, it could be a long day for the Dogs.

Of course we can. We have players that run fast. We have a slew of RB's that can break wide open. Alls I'm saying is you just can't try and sustain 4 yard plays for 80+ yard drives all game long. The only way you can is if your defense is on their game all the time, constantly forcing punts. Our defense is good, but face it, it's not good just to rely on your defense. Then you might end up in a hole you won't be able to dig yourself out of.

Big plays do more than just sell tickets. They are a necessity, especially to an offense that really excells in drawing opposing defenses to run stopping and shallow coverage.

I agree. But the way you were talking, sounded like you had resigned yourself to the fact that our offense is as good as it is going to get.

btw, I just watched CPFs press conference today. In a nutshell, he said that the big play is there and we'll get it. This week be a good week for that. Until we find it, we'll have to do things the hard way.

Also, RC said let the fans complain. They are allowed their opinions. But to expect a crisp football team after 4 days from the Baton Rouge humidity is a bit unfair (again, in a nutshell).

We did that against LSU somewhat effectively, though. Clausen dropped a couple of long plays on the Tiggers. I think we just need to work on doing that more effectively.

I keep telling myself that, but Shockley has put up some good numbers in a couple of games this year. He doesn't exactly pick teams apart, but he loves to dump it to the tight end and throw the deep ball.

And TE's they have. That one behemoth is 6'9" and can run. He's a freak. The commentator's love him so much, not only has he grown 2" since the season started, I bet they'll start saying his motor never stops running, or something like that.

I'm pretty sure that only white Defensive Ends can have motors that never stop running.
