Per Reuters, Natalia Veselnitskaya obtained a visa from the State Department to enter the country in June of 2016, according to a government filing. This was to allow for her to attend a hearing in a 2nd Circuit case against a Russian businessman accused of money laundering. I'm sure that you will try to spin some deep state theory into that, with nothing to substantiate it.

Who was in charge of the State Dept that let her back in the country?


Edit: It was actually the Justice Dept that gave her the special immigration parole that let her come back in the country. So, who was in charge of the Justice Dept. at that time and why did she meet with Glenn Simpson , founder of Fusion GPS, both the day before and after the Trump Tower meet? Fusion GPS had Nellie Ohr, wife of DOJ official Bruce Ohr) working there in the Summer of 2016. The meeting was a setup to get a Russian into the tower to make collusion look more believable.

Don't know and don't care... the investigation into collusion was more than justified. You can't explain why Trump and Trump Jr. felt it necessary to lie so many times, about who was at the Trump Tower meeting and what was discussed. There simply isn't an innocent explanation for those lies. The dishonesty of the Trumps more than justified both the investigation and how it was covered by the press, including CNN.

Plan and simple CNN made it a point to cover Russia collusion 24/7 for two yrs. That's a fact. It's also a fact that nothing was ever found to nail Trump with it. How many times did they have Adam Schiff on? How many times did he say that he has the evidence that Trump colluded with Russia? We now know this was a lie. We have all kinds of folks from Susan Rice to Loretta Lynch to James Clapper who all said under oath that they have no evidence of collusion:

The House Intelligence Committee transcripts further underscored the thinness of the Russia collusion allegations. “I never saw any direct empirical evidence that the Trump campaign or someone in it was plotting/conspiring with the Russians to meddle with the election,” former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper testified. Other Obama administration officials, including National Security Advisor Susan Rice, made the same grudging admission in response to questions from committee members.

Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power, according to the transcript of her interview, was asked about the same issue. Power replied: “I am not in possession of anything—I am not in possession and didn’t read or absorb information that came from out of the intelligence community.”

Obama National Security Adviser Susan Rice was asked the same question. “To the best of my recollection, there wasn’t anything smoking, but there were some things that gave me pause,” she said, according to her transcribed interview, in response to whether she had any evidence of conspiracy. “I don’t recall intelligence that I would consider evidence to that effect that I saw…conspiracy prior to my departure.”

When asked whether she had any evidence of “coordination,” Rice replied: “I don’t recall any intelligence or evidence to that effect.”

When asked about collusion, Rice replied: “Same answer.”

“I wouldn’t have received any information on any criminal or counterintelligence investigations into what the Trump campaign was doing, so I would not have seen that information,” Rhodes said.

When pressed again, he said: “I saw indications of potential coordination, but I did not see, you know, the specific evidence of the actions of the Trump campaign.”

Former Attorney General Loretta Lynch also said that she did "not recall that being briefed up to me."

"I can't say that it existed or not," Lynch said, referring to evidence of collusion, conspiracy or coordination.

So Trump's lies are okay... but if CNN lies, you have a problem with it? You really can't be so self-righteous when defending a man like Trump. The number one reason given by conservatives for disliking the media? They tell lies! Who do they vote for? Donald Trump, of course. Absurd.

There is no excuse for their lies. If they had nothing to hide, then they should have told the truth about the Trump Tower meeting. They didn't. You seem all too eager to give the Trumps a pass for their dishonesty. I highly doubt you have ever accorded Barack Obama with such sympathetic understanding.

Stop dancing with the goal posts. I’m not defending Trump. I don’t even think I’ve mentioned him in this thread.

I’m telling you that CNN ruined their credibility with the lies they’ve pedaled for the last three years.

I’ll have to check out OAN, but they’d have to get really hard to have less credibility than CNN.

That’s pretty naive. I remember trump hinting at the idea that he was being spied on. Y’all mocked him. Turns out he was right and to this point no one has paid for a directed effort by those in the Obama admin to undermine Trumps candidacy and then election.

Only in your leftist world can you impeach a president for quid pro quo when it was actually his opponent who is guilty of it. It’s beyond explanation.

I'm really not privy to the details of these "lies". My guess is that we'll never know what's behind them just like we'll never know what's in those 30K e-mails that Hillary deleted. I understand the rich and powerful will be successful keeping things from us and I don't stay up at night worrying about such things.

Considering all the folks that were out to get him from even before the election, it's amazing that they couldn't find anything on him. To me that means that he's awfully clean.

When a guy is clean but folks are out to get him, they pivot to plan B which is "let's get him on obstruction." What that means is they basically create a crime where there wasn't one to begin with. That's piss poor and weak.

This is the stupidest story. I dont like OAN or any corporate news but I do not support other people getting offended and demanding other people do this or that. Let the kid walk and see how far he gets imposing his values on others. The back pedalling from the coach is ridiculous.
Normalizing the being offended and cancel culture is not where we need to go. I hate every aspect of this story and am ashamed that it has come to this.

Naive? Your trying to defend Trump's lies is naive. He crafted that false statement aboard Air Force One about the Trump Tower meeting. And although, way off subject here, yes... Trump was guilty of leveraging military aid to the Ukraine against their President's willingness to announce an investigation into a political opponent, who just happened to be the front runner for the Democratic Party nomination.

If we have learned anything about Donald Trump it's that he will lie about anything and that he is full of double standards. He hates fake news but loves OANN. He is an advocate of free speech but he sent a cease and desist letter to CNN, just because they had the nerve to report poll numbers which were unfavorable to him (when Scott Rasmussen's own polling has shown similar results).
