One quick observation about the AL, Ole Miss Game..

You mean school records right? At a school that hasn't had a qb start and win an NFL game in like 30 years? When he had a 22 yr old 5th yr senior just like he had in Crompton when he was here?

He's smoke and mirrors guys. Every time he's faced a real challenge he's failed. Not just failed but crashed and left a mess behind him.
Stop acting like being an unsuccessful head coach has anything to do with his playcalling. He's really good.

You want him to fail at everything so much you can't admit it.

Kiffins 1 team at UT had 3 players drafted in the top 40 of the next NFL draft and he lost 6 games. He inherited a junior class that was ranked #3 on rivals I think. He had talent on that team and did nothing with it

He lost to a bad UCLA team at home. He lost to a middle of the road Auburn team.

He got blown out by a mediocre Ole Miss team. He got blown out by Va Tech in Atlanta.

That's not nothing.

Weird how all that talent got a coach who'd been here for 17 years fired. They must have been awesome and just decided not to show it for Kiffin. Or for Dooley.

Berry and Dan Williams were the only players drafted in the top 40 of the next draft. Berry was great from start to finish here and was definitely an asset for any coach. Williams hadn't done much prior to Kiffin and I'm sure having Ed Orgeron, who has coached about 5,000 first round DL was a big factor for him.

Crompton got drafted. He basically gave all credit to that to Kiffin. Montario got drafted and did more with Kiffin than in all his year prior to Kiffin combined.

Too bad he couldn't get matched up with an awful opponent like Iowa. Instead we played the second best team from a conference. It was a bad matchup.

Hardesty was injured every year prior. No exaggeration

Go back and look at how USC recruiting really worked out. Like 80% of the 5 stars he signed transferred, we're dismissed, or sucked. Just like his class here. Smoke and mirrors. Keep on believing,I'm done. You'll always love her. She was your first.

Ah yes. You're obviously super smart, as evidenced with your inference that I'm a homosexual. You've been wrong about everything else thus far, so I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.

Ole Miss another bad matchup?

Auburn? UCLA?

Ole Miss was a bad matchup. Their DL ripped our OL to shreds and our defense was playing third stringers at multiple positions. They were actually a good team with a coach that was too dumb to play McCluster at RB for the whole season. They figured that out against us and never looked back.

Auburn and UCLA were not good. Should have beat UCLA for sure. Probably would have if we'd just kept letting Hardesty have the ball. That's the kind of crap I can excuse in year one when I see progress being made, like beating the hell out of Spurrier and Richt.

I thought his play calling sucked when he was at UT, usc as well. He's doing ok with Nussmeier's recruits, that will fade the longer he is their. Liked his dad, but little kiffy is trash.

Does it make you happy to look at his life, then look at yours and compare accomplishments?

Nussmeier was a bum that passed and passed his way into losses when he had a stud platoon of running backs sitting around doing nothing. Saban let him walk.

That's why I did NOT want his dad as DC. His Tampa 2 does not work in the new age college level.

We had a top 25 defense that year. Ole Miss and VA Tech were the only teams that really beat up our defense and that was late in the season. Shane Reveiz was getting a lot of PT at that point. I think his defensive scheme was fine, but he himself was probably right on the edge of being too old to continue coaching when he was here.

I hate Kiffin as much as the next guy, but blaming him for Bamas problems is dumb. Their defense hasn't been much for the last few years. He scored 37 vs the Landshark defense with QB problems.
Exactly. The bammer bunch are raising hell about Kiffin because they can't face the facts many top notch coaches and staffs can routinely hang 40 or more points on any defense Saban puts on the field as head coach.

Oh let's be honest! The only time Bama made plays is when Ole Miss's D let off the gas big time

Making excuses that he has qb problems and turnovers?

He's the oc. He's the very guy to blame for qb problems and turnovers. He has about 40 stars worth of qbs on his roster to work with!

As stated above,he's absolutely a negative influence on the culture. Saban really did us a favor putting that poison in his program.

Harvey Updike is there OC now ??

And he still managed to get them within one drive of winning it. Point is Bamas defense was not good.last year and the "greatest defense Saban has had" is starting to look dumb.

Kiffin came in at thw right time for them or last year they.might have stunk it up. The D is their problem. BIG plays everywhere.

Also, did 2 TOs not.come on special teams? Didn't see but half the game.

Their defense wasn't good last year? I guess 4th in points per game allowed really sucks. That's really bad..... Having three teams give up less points per game...horrible by any standard

Lane might be a raging narcissist but he can recruit and is a damn good play caller. Saban recognized this even if he did also hire Barbara's baby boy Derek, also a raging narcissist and lousy recruiter and not so much a good game manager. But hey he is a lawyer and knows shower etiquette.

Kiffin' recruiting class went to hell in a hand basket..... How soon the little boys forget

Lane Kiffins offensive play calling set Alabama school records last year. As a HC, yeah he sucked. As an OC? He can coach circles around Debord and Jones.

Not sure what games you were watching, but bama didn't start passing til they hired your boy kiffy. Saban didn't let him walk, he got a head coaching job and took it.

Not hard to do at school who historically relies defense and running the ball down your throat all game to win
