One could easily argue that Xavier is a better job than UT.
Xavier is a basketball school, plays in a basketball conference, and is located in a recruiting hotbed unlike UT. UT has more money and better facilities, but facilities aren't a major selling point in regards to college Basketball.

Bahahaha ok.

Is Greg Marshall or shaka smart really big name coaches.....both of them have questions

They're absolutely bigger names than our current coach was.

All my point is was that yea some coaches may have turned it down because they were where they wanted to be and aren't leaving. But there were definitely a few coaches who turned it down, in large part because of the ncaa situation.

Personally, I like it. No schedule killers, the sub 250 RPI teams, but at the same time not too daunting of a schedule.

They are all very winnable games, and all games that if you win look pretty good. I like it.

Also I count 13 OOC games, so it's looking like a 31 game schedule FWIW.

I don't think we have taken a step back yet.....Pearls last season would have been much better in my opinion if not for the distraction Pearl caused with his lying....A slightly worse season by Zo is not necessarily a step back either. we lost our two stars from the team...system change ....and young players in new roles.

After this season though, it is very much possible that we will be without Any post player besides Yemi.....no player besides Stokes looks as good or better than any starter we already had....I hold out hope for some of them to possibly develop though.

if he doesn't sign a good class this year then yes I feel 2013 could be dismal on the hill.

I think that CCM future depends on the 2013 class. A very good year in 2012 on the court hopefully will help that.

Xavier and Wichita state are here in Knoxville, Virginia is away and we will be away for the sec/big east challenge. No opponent has been set, but it most likely is going to be ND is what's being said.

Like our schedule this year. Will be some competitive games.

Agree 100%.

It's not got many killers(nc state if we play them), but it has a lot of recognizable and solid teams. Also we dont have the RPI killers, and d2 team in chaminade on there.

I definitely like it, fwiw Xavier and Wichita will be away games next year, and Virginia home.

Looks like a top Big 10 team will be on our schedule.

Tennessee will face a Big Ten opponent (rumored to be Michigan State, Indiana or Michigan)

Well that definately ramps up the difficulty level of the OOC schedule. A win vs any of those three would be great for UT on a national level, especially Indiana and Michigan St. It would be strange for UK to drop their game with IU and UT to pick it up.

If its IU at Assembly Hall that could be huge. That hostile environment and to go in and get a win would love to see us play IU

I dont think it's MSU. I asked a family friend who works for the university and he's heard nothing. Id like to be wrong though. I love MSU basketball and Coach Izzo is a class act who coaches some great ball. We'd have a good matchup with them since they don't have any veteran big men that could match our twin towers

Probably our best chance at getting a win.

I'd like a rematch verse Michigan, a little bit of a revenge game for the embarrassment they handed us.

Any of those 3 would be a great addition to an already very solid schedule.

Revenge game would be against MSU. No way a ref blows that call with 2 seconds left that keeps us out of the Final 4.

True but how many are left from each team? I was thinking more from players standpoint than fan, but either would be nice.

Then again a game verse Indiana would be awesome, especially since calipari wouldn't do it. Really can't go wrong with any of those.

Man, I will always give Pearl credit for doing outstanding work in that run. I hate that we lost to MSU, but it could have been worse considering that we really gave it everything we had.

Yeah, but just think what could have been if the ref didn't call the clean block that Prince had. I think we matched up pretty good against Butler. Hell, MSU did also just got into foul trouble and had a terrible game against them. Oh well.....

No, all games would be great. I don't think we win against IU, but the experience would be great. MI and MSU I think are beatable especially if it's very early in the year. UT coming off a lot of experience playing together over seas.

I'd love to play IU on the road. Either you lose, which shocks no one and doesn't hurt much if at all, or you win and shock everyone.

Plus, I just don't want to play Michigan, for obvious reasons.

No. I can't handle anymore UT-UM matchups.
