Opener is a likely L per ESPN

lolololololololol

I guess I am a broken record, but the media, including ESPN is lazy. They only report on matters that suits their agendas, they report lies and half truths and get their peer jerk circle awards. They get most of their material from Twitter (we all know how accurate that is) because they are lazy. They were English majors who all of a sudden are experts in sports, politics or whatever. They survive only because gullible people believe what they say and don't question them.

I want to apologize to Twitter. It is at least as reliable as some of the "responsible" media such as ESPN, CNN or MSNBC. Freak will tell you to come to VN to get the most accurate and timely news. :)

"I'm picking Tennessee to finish higher than Mizzou in the SEC East. Now this was a tough decision, but it comes down to line play. Tennessee isn't going to be very good in the skill positions this year, but those offensive and defensive lines are for real!"

Moral of the story: ESPN has absolutely no clue what they are talking about.

Wouldn't it be awesome if he was ignorantly/inadvertently correct about our offensive and defensive lines, and they turned out to be surprisingly solid? We could have a heckuva year!

Go Vols! :peace2:

53.6% chance of Utah St winning this game........Well I think deep in my heart and blood that bleeds orange each and every day and pray that we have a team that is consistently wins 9 or 10 games each year and is a factor to win the SEC that we win this game 31-14 and have no worries, BUT we have not proven it as a team regardless of what we think of our team or what we see in practice. We have orange colored glasses on (nothing wrong with that, I wear them every day). UNTIL we prove to the SEC, nation, ESPN, MSNBC, XYZ, that we CAN win against most teams then that will be what they say about every game every year.

As a teacher if I have a student that has gotten D's every test he has taken but has had a B+ here and there and I know he is with a tudor everyday and see he has been paying more attention in class and giving more effort, and you ask me to say what he will get on the next test...... I say he will get a D, because that is what his past says. Not saying he cannot or ever will get a A, but cannot say that because he has not PROVEN to me that he is capible.

Just like we have not proven to anyone we can beat most people on our schedule. If this was 10 years ago and we were playing the SAME Utah St. game we would be favored to win by 85% or more, just the way it goes boys.

GBO and CBJ!!!!!!!!!

They are trying to create a story line by putting an SEC team on upset alert. If they can get you to watch, listen, or click then they have accomplished their goal.

Picking nits a bit but... here are the opening week match ups:

TAM v USCe
Wisc v LSU
Idaho v UF
SDSU v Mizzou
Temp v Vandy
UTM v UK
Clem v UGA
WVU v Bama
Ark v Aub
Boise v Ole Miss
So Miss v MSU
USU v UT

Favored teams are in bold. Teams I think are more likely to lose than UT are in red. Some of the others are at least as likely.
Some teams have tougher openers than I was aware of for sure. In fact if I was a writer that would have been my article not UT and USU. I'm in agreement some would certainly be more likley too, as a fan. With all that said we know what all is going on with these types of reports and yet we as a fan base bite every time. Fact of the matter is nothing in our recent resume says we are gonna whip USU's ass. Which is really the bigger point. When random prognosticators make random prognostications. Frankly I love it for our team's motivation. I hope they pour it on so the team gets fired up.
