Opinion question for y'all

SIGH. Yeah, no $hit. We are the Volunteer state because of Volunteers-like Davy. Which is the man our logo represents. Vandy has a guy that looks like Andy Jackson. Go pull for them if you like.
I agree with TEN TITANS. You look at them as DEAD LOSERS? Is that right? That is offensive as hell.

Pick up a dang history book. We got the name because of Jackson and the Battle of New Orleans.

NO!

Tennessee is not a "me too" school, it's a trendsetting, one of a kind school.

Trendsetting: We have a fight song but non-fight alternative is the most recognized tune in the nation.
It's so hated by opponents that it's loved despite the hate. They can't get it out of their freaking heads no matter how they try.

One of a kind: Except for Rockytop and the Power T, nothing else says Tennessee Volunteers like the orange and white checkerboard end zone. It's practically known worldwide.

Helmet stickers!!!??? Leave it to the children schools whose textbooks are printed by the folks who print the Highlight magazine.

No, not on our helmets. Ohio State and Florida State are the only teams those stickers look good on, imo.

What part of "No $hit" did you not understand? I never said we got our Volunteer name from Davy. The Davy image is just our Volunteer logo. Get over yourself.

And it's based on the Disney Myths and movie from the 1950s. FYI he didn't even go to Texas to fight, he went there because he was miffed he lost his seat in the TN State House.

Here's what Davy said to Tennesseans:

Crockett returned to Congress in 1833 and published his autobiography, A Narrative of the Life of David Crockett of the State of Tennessee, partly to correct the growing popular legend of his life. After losing his campaign for a fourth term, Crockett gave up on politics and uttered the now famous statement, "You may all go to Hell, and I will go to Texas."

You just don't get do? Can someone help him out?

I get that you're stuck on a myth that flies in the face of what the nickname Tennessee Volunteers represents and are acting too proud to admit you simply like the 1950s myth and logo. Thinking that particular logo is just peachy is fine with me. I disagree with that and think if we're going to use a Davy style mascot it should represent us, you know the Volunteers, but it's simply not all you've made it out to be no matter how you try to backpedal or hurl accusations.

However, you started down this path by blowing your top over a simple disagreement. I hold no animosity toward you whatsoever but you've been responding as though the world has come to an end because someone disagrees with Disney's Davy which ironically, Mr. Crockett himself with likely disagree with.

Really? You still don't get it? Sad. Please reread my posts and tell me where and how I am stuck on this myth about Davy, how I'm to proud to admit it, backpedal, or hurl accusations. Id love to hear it.
I do however like the logo and wish it was used more.
You say I blew my top? The only thing that made me mad was the dead loser remark and the assumption that I didn't know where Tennessee got the nickname Volunteer state from. To make the remark "Dead Loser" about anyone who fought and died for this country is a disgrace. And anyone who went to school in Tennessee was taught where the states nickname come from. Your not the only one that knows this. If you want to disagree with me ,that's fine. Just don't disagree with me on something I didn't say. That is just silly. I simple posted that Tennessee needs to get back to its Volunteer logo(Davy logo) and not use the Smokey logo so much. Some how you don't understand this, you keep trying to tell me about Andy Jackson and where the Volunteer nickname came from. Its quite comical and sad at the same time that you are having so much trouble with this.

LMFAO. Smokey is related to a real part of our culture and Smokey never told the state of Tennessee to go to hell in his autobiography. His popularity and outfits also aren't based upon a Disney fairytale but a natural extension of a mascot that fits and isn't a Texas hero disguised as a Tennessee hero let alone related to said myth or promoting misperception that he is in anyway related to our nickname. It's not complicated and doesn't require a degree to figure out.

Helmet stickers suck.

Ohio St and UGA have some of the best helmets in the country, and they crap them up with those stupid stickers.

Why thank you.......I guess.:p. once you start giving out Dawg Bones, it's hard to stop. We had head hunters when I was in high school. Very motivating for a player, IMHO.

Why would any Vol fan want to detract attention from the Big Orange Power T?

I prefer the 2 big Orange power T's on each side.

Even is we gave out a small power T sticker it would look childish and make our helmets look like crap as they kept adding then after every game.

It's a bad idea IMHO.
