Option for cable cutters and football season...

sling is still causing entirely too many errors. i dropped it til they figure it out. kodi, ccloud, stalker (if it comes back), sportsdevil... they're fine.

I've had slingtv for about a month and I love it. No buffering and I don't think anyone would notice a difference in picture quality.

The only complaint I have, is different channels can have much different volume levels. I'm watching one show, and when I change the channel, its like someone either cranked the volume way up or down. It doesn't happen all the time, but its not a big deal.

They are still working out the bugs but overall I'm impressed. Wife likes it too. We actually find ourselves watching less TV and save almost $100 per month. I like having less channels, I don't waste time surfing through a million channels to watch some bad TV. We now just turn off the TV and do more productive things now.

Those of you who have cut the cord and are using internet + Sling TV, how have you liked the first few weeks? (other than last night, of course)

We're moving Wednesday. :eek:hmy: I have to figure out what to do. We have Charter here, so the choice is Charter plus silver TV or Charter plus stuff I don't understand but sounds good. Per an incredibly rude sales guy at Charter, it would be cheaper to do the Charter silver triple play than just the two.

Or there's satellite, I guess...

I am also thinking of ditching cable and signing up for sling tv but I am hesitant. How have the games looked so far on it? Any issues?

No issues for me. I did have to buy a new router, but sling has been awesome. Even if I am out I can just watch on my phone. Although the watch espn app does not work on my phone. I have to use the slingtv app.

I watched UT-OK on Sling TV on Saturday and both Monday Night games with Fire Stick in high quality HD.

Sling TV depends on your ISP and your wireless router. I had no problems, but I have had Sling TV for 4 months so I have been able to work out bugs. I purchased a new ac router ($82 on Amazon) to replace my old g router (ISP provided at $8 per month) and that helped tremendously. This week I will watch WC-UT on Sling TV also.

I live in a rural area so I kept basic cable and I use Sling TV at 27.75 a month for football season. We also use Netflix and Prime and it is still $20 a month cheaper than digital cable. And $47.75 cheaper during off season.

If your a new subscriber you can get internet with charter for 39.99. You can also get cable and Internet for 79.98 promo. When my promo of Internet was jacked up to 59.99 after year was up. A week later I got the 79.98 deal for TV and Internet flyer in mail. The same day I got flyer I went to charter and they set me up for 2 years 79.98... not bad to get cable added just for $20.00.

That's what I'm finding now. I went online to order internet only ($39.99), and magically, an offer to add the Silver package (which has SECN) appeared for a total of $76.97/month. So I'm probably chickening out and going with that, depending on how the next 10 minutes go.

--no, Ms. Chat Agent, I don't want to lock in my rate for three years @ $106.97...

final deal, from the chat window:

We will be setting you up with TV select, free Silver, free DVR service, 1 DVR, Interent and your monthly rate will be $85.26 including tax which is locked in for 12 months, after that the rates increase $20 for months 13 - 24. Your installation will occur on 09/xx/2015 between 3-5pm and the install fee of $29.99 is added to the first statement.

Maybe I'll get my nerve up and cut the cord in January, but this is semi-OK for now.

I've really enjoyed sling tv so far. Watching FSU-BC right now. I signed up for 3 months and got the roku3 cheap as a part of the deal and like it better than my Apple TV.

I've cut the cable totally, had DirectTV and I've been able to keep up with the shows that i watch and the Vols

I'm using PrimeWire | 1Channel | LetMeWatchThis - Watch Movies Online Free - Just Added shields up Scotty :)

and Feed2all p2p4u Wiziwig Sports Live Football Stream | FirstRowSports Watch Live Football Online | First Row Sports and again shields up Scotty

I'm using Adblock Plus on Google Chrome and that helps out a bunch

I've been lucky and I'm going to be using a family members login for ESPN when the Lady Vols start playing basketball this year

so i have been doing pretty good and have dropped DirctTV's monthly bill, which had crept up to around a 100 bucks a month

Yeah I was only paying for Internet 39.99 and had access of watchespn, at times antenna worked until bank behind us with trees took over, Netflix and Hulu with TiVo on my antenna. I had total $30 TV and Internet $40= $70 at best. 79.98 not too bad for cable with DVR and 60 mbps speed internet. I don't know where you live but in Tri Cities location was more helpful than phone rep. The store rep. said deal was good for 2 years and told me to see him after 2 years and he said he could do what he could to keep same bill.

My friend is stuck in London and can't do Direct streaming or WatchESPN....needs an old fangled interwebz link.

Thanks!

Rajangan, has every game, use Adblock + addon for Firefox. Don't click pop ups or install anything if it says to. Make sure your Java and shockwave are up to date.

This game will not be close , like the BGS game all we have to do is hand it to Hurd and Kamara over and over. This is one thing we don't have to ?? About the coaching staff, they get a 10 out of 10 on this.

Watch a good game and catch the UT replay on sec network!

Please fellow vols help! I will be away from cable television for game and I need options online and knew someone on volnation would have the answer. Thank you in advance

Slingtv has a seven day free trial. You could try that. It's what I use and works perfectly so far.

I also just downloaded Kodi but of course soon as I get it the sports streams go down.

I downloaded Kodi a couple of weeks ago and I love it. No more annoying popups.

I've been catching up on so many tv shows. I absolutely love it, just hope they get sportsdevil working again soon.

SportsDevil is down? Crap, I have been watching Auburn LSU through the CBS sport site. I hope they get it back up before 7pm.
