Orange Bowl Opt Outs

Man up yourself and stop saying he opted out. He quit. And what makes it even more difficult is Young and Anderson (who are much higher prospects) didn't. Or would you like to claim they opted in?

Jalin Hyatt opted out.

Bryce Young and Will Anderson are dumb to be playing in their bowl game. Kansas State is not worth it. Both players will be picked in the top 3. At that range, their contracts will be worth 35-40 mil. Every spot they drop in the draft costs them about 1.5-2 mil in contract value. At this point, the only thing that changes anything between that top 3 contract is an injury.

"steal of a deal"....LOL "their" time at UT making millions for the school...Good grief. So the University, staff, and everything else that make UT...well...UT, isn't contributing jack? All that merch, tickets, fees, State money, business deals, educating students, and on and on is worthless? I don't want any of what you are drinking. I think we understand the NIL deals better than you. I didn't say the businesses should limit themselves and if I were an athlete, I would be looking at deals and insurance for sure. I credit UT for giving me an education that made me millions over my career and I paid for most of my education by working. "Thankless fans"...you haven't a clue. Keep fishing NC. Racist much?

The bold is your own - irrelevant - rambling that I didn't say or imply.

What I did say is that NILs are private business deals with athletes that are unlikely to be structured as you wish and gave several reasons, not the least of which are endorsement value, legality, and that schools are not involved in them. If you understand the argument and what NILs are, why argue NILs should be arranged to compel bowl participation?

I countered your "free education, room/board, etc" by factually noting it's not free at all; the school trades a scholarship for players who bring in tens/millions in surplus revenues just for the football program. Like you, the players work for their "free" stuff, and it's a hell of a deal for the university.

Then I stated, in effect, that Hyatt has done more than any fan ever will in the restoration of this program and deserves better than thankless fans. Broadly, I supported the players' rights of association and earning income that everyone else in society enjoys, but yet the SCOTUS had to force the NCAA and schools - UT included - to observe those rights. Of predominantly black players.

Now, focus on the argument and while you're at it, explain your "Racist much?" comment - thanks, buddy!

We agree on everything except for the word salad that is your first sentence. It's only 3 words. Jalin Hyatt quit.

No. I'm absolutely certain he does not. His thoughts on whether or not I think he cares what I think doesn't change the fact he quit.
Good. Just making sure you aren’t delusional enough to think that your opinion matters on the subject. To Jalin or anyone else for that matter. His decision on his career is the only one that matters.

I'm just going to call his and any other player not injured what they are. They are not opter-outers.
