I assume you mean AAC. And the Cotton has no ties to them or any other conference. They take two at-large teams. During the year when the Peach and Fiesta had the CFP, the Cotton has to take the highest ranked champ from the Group of 5.
They shouldn’t have to take any group of five , meant AAC. So yes they are tied in along with all the other junior conferences. Just makes a watered down product. Group of five needs to play group of five.

8 year span for the Orange Bowl. 2 years CFP, 3 from SEC, 3 from B10 (non CFP) This is interesting because both the SEC and B10 both have 3 year commitments. It is an interesting spot to be in.
If the Rose Bowl had the option to go to a non B10 team if turned down by a B10 team, then, one would think that OSU would not have the option to say we will wait. The Orange picks after the Rose this year. The Rose Bowl is the Problem.

The "Orange" Orange bowl makes waaaaay too much sense from a marketing perspective for them to pass on this matchup. Factor in Dabo's comments about Tennessee and it'll be a bigger draw than any other matchup except for maybe the playoffs.
And by the way things are supposed to go Tennessee and the ACC winner should be in Orange. But evidently the sec and acc just bowed over and let’s the Rose bowl pick who it chooses while we have stupid tie ins but the tie ins can get booted by what the Rose bowl wants. What a load of crap! Sec and Acc need to grow a set and quit letting the big10 pac and rose dictate everything. We are the top conference, act like it! GBO! Heck how about just plain Ol equal fairness.

It’s not my personal opinion. I’m a non-expert. Miami believes that more money gets spent total by OSU.
How do you know that. The Orange bowl hasn’t said nothing from what I seen. Just Herb speculation and folks from the Rose Bowl. Tennessee isn’t out of the Orange or sugar for that matter yet. Still games to be played. GBO!

That one game's worth of access is what keeps the power five from being sued by the little guys.

Ohio State travels. But Miami is really dumb if they think that this year. Tennessee wants the game vs Clemson and hasn't been to a new years 6 Bowl in forever. It's a consolation prize for the Buckeyes. Clemson vs Tennessee is also a marketing slam dunk. Clemson vs Ohio State is meh, more of the same.

My guess is that the Orange Bowl/Miami remembers how much they made off of Tennessee in 1997.

I'm a Kansas State fan this weekend. It was another Kansas State game, one they lost to Texas A&M in the 1998 Big 12 championship, that landed us in the title game that year. The line's TCU by 2.5 right now, so hopefully K State pulls it off and then the Rose Bowl can take Penn State all it wants. It's not like the Big 10 has anyone else ranked remotely high enough to warrant a NY6 berth.

Ugh. I am so frustrated at the Hooker injury. I don’t have any confidence in shutting this guy up with Milton at the helm.

It’s most favorable matchup + a good W for recruiting. Their QB U is the type of QB UT can handle see Vandy QB. Beating UCF or Tulane does nothing for our recruiting cred. JMO might as well opt out bowl game.

This isn’t exactly the time to prove something lol. We are looking at having 4 starting receivers out if Hyatt sits it out. Starting qb out. A Swiss cheese secondary. I would not expect a statement game out of this.
Just your opinion, we also have some freshman that are about ready to make a impact. Plus folks on here are painting a worst case scenario with opt outs that has yet to being close to confirmed.
They is nothing at this point that says we will have 4 recievers out. Why don’t folks wait before assuming the worst on bowl hold outs. I expect maybe a few but a very few. Tillman and Hyatt are the only 2 recievers that MIGHT not play. Fant will play! I just don’t think it benefits anyone else to sit unless they are hurt. Folks just take the worst case and run with it as fact on internet. GBO

Never really had a problem with Clemson. Now, their coach had flap his jaws about UT..... Go jump in the creek Da boo. I would love to line up and smack them pretty hard.

A good game against Clemson would actually improve some of departing players draft stock.

Sued for what, not allowing us to play with the big boys . Good luck with that lawsuit. Group of five should have their own 16 team playoff like division 1,2,3 do . If they can do it everybody can do it period. Plus they could create a championship . They will never, ever, ever, ever win against the Power 5 teams in a playoff format. So basically they will never sniff a National Championship. Money to be made if they create their own playoff.

Everyone in the world wants to see Clemson get destroyed.

This would make for huge TV.

They have a good D……but Tennessee has seen plenty of those.

Their passing O is 84th.

Keep running that mouth Dabo!!
Hooker isn’t playing. Idk. I could see this going either way. If Hooker was healthy and in, we beat them by three TDs. No idea what you’ll get with Milton.

Tenn has seen plenty of those with Hooker.

Yes they have, however it’s not the passing game I’m thinking of.

I know they have a great run D; however Tennessee will do exactly what they did vs Vandy. Chuck it deep, early. Make them respect the deep, spread them out, and eventually get them with the run game while probably hitting one maybe two with the pass game.

I’m bringing conjecture……..so feel free to disagree. However if that’s how I see it.

I'm all for playing Clemson but the game makes me nervous. Last time we played them in the 2004 Peach Bowl, UT had a much better team but lost by 13. I was there. UT played like crap. I suppose it was a letdown from losing to Auburn for the second time that year in the SECCG.
