Hooker isn’t playing. Idk. I could see this going either way. If Hooker was healthy and in, we beat them by three TDs. No idea what you’ll get with Milton.

No doubt however I think Tennessee does things differently.

Tennessee runs a lot. They run to set up the pass…….especially the long pass.

Now Tennessee will pass……especially the long pass to set up the run.

Tennessee did this well vs Vandy. I know it’s Vandy however I would suspect they would continue…….and with Milton’s arm they would have to respect it.

Chuck it deep and early, while spreading them out. Run it, run it, run it, chuck it deep……..eventually Tennessee starts to gap folks (everyone except Georgia)…..just in reverse.

I still think it would work.

TV would love Vols vs Clemson. The whole flipping burgers 🍔 thing would be a great storyline.
you can just see Smokey in an apron with a big spatula tormenting the Tiger on the sidelines.

I'm not pointing at you personally, but this whole perceived "shade" at Tennessee by Dabo. It's stupid and looks desperate by our fanbase to find some sliver of bulletin board material to get offended by. Dude was implying that our team was cooking bbq and not thinking about South Carolina coming up, instead thinking ahead to our playoff spot and which place we were gonna be. Considering how we played, it was a reasonable take from his perspective and he wanted his team to not fall into the same trap with them looming ahead on his schedule. People getting twisted up about it and making twitter posts and memes or whatever just look silly and Vandy level petty. I wish our (the vocal social media portion) fanbase would grow up a little bit.

Anything that makes Dabo look bad is fine with me.
Speaking of growing up, what kind of name is that for an adult anyway.

Good point made here is Rose Bowl doesn’t want a Utah vs Ohio State rematch .
Orange probably doesn’t want a Clemson vs Ohio State game again . But who knows all these teams travel well. But Clemson vs UT is something new. And new sells tickets.
Cotton bowl needs to cut ties with that dang AAU crap.
Because they are missing out on a top 10 matchup. It would look like this instead.
Rose: 10-2 Washington vs 11-1 Ohio State
Orange : 10-2 Clemson vs 10-2 Tennessee
Cotton : 9-3 K-State vs 9-3 Utah
Sugar : 10-2 Alabama vs 10-2 Penn State

The Cotton Bowl doesn’t have ties with the G5. Cotton, Fiesta, and Peach don’t have conference ties so the G5 team will always end up there cause the Sugar, Rose, and Orange have conference ties. This year the Peach and Fiesta are playoff games so that leaves the Cotton stuck with the G5 team.

If the Cotton refused to take them this year, they would be removed from the playoff rotation and lose their status as a NY6 bowl going forward.

Doesn't the Orange Bowl committee get to pick their teams to play in their bowl game
Sounds like the Orange Bowl wants Tennessee vs Clemson. And we want Dabo, so let go do it
GO BIG ORANGE!!!

Our problem playing anyone in the bowl game up is that they are gonna commit to stopping the run and make Joe beat us with accurate throws. My preference is to play a team that has a weak run defense.

True.
and that’s actually ok as far as our coaching staff is concerned.
Milton has 4 weeks right now before the New Years Day bowls to work on “touch”.
The world knows he has the strongest arm in the world.
If he can just take a little off of his fastball, that will give our coaching staff a lot more confidence in him heading into spring practice. And that would probably mean that we don’t go after another QB in the portal. If he’s still ole “overthrow Joe”, we probably do go get another one in the portal.

TV loves storylines.
This game gives us these:
Which Orange is better. Our Pantone 151 or whatever shade Clemson has. Or the Orange 🍊 Bowl mascot?
Who was worse vs SCarolina ?
What did Dabo really say or mean to say about Vols flipping burgers 🍔.
Clemsons success in recruiting in the state of Tennessee.
Tennessees success in recruiting in the state of SCarolina.
(those are just off the top of my head, I’m sure there are more).

Listening to many of the talking heads - some of whom actually know football - they seem to think we’ll get a portal QB who is capable of coming in and competing for the starting job. They tend to all think Jackson could be in the mix in the Spring but that Heupel will want another option in case he’s not. Iama will be an early enrollee but again, they think Heupel will go for someone in the portal just in case neither Iama nor Jackson is ready (and Joe remains overthrow Joe).

It be interesting and you do have to be careful with team chemistry but if Joe is a 50% passer with plenty of overthrows on the deep routes I think we’ll get a portal QB who is ready to start.

Can we not punt loser Dabo to the curb?

Then we will have Vols vs Ohio State in the Orange Bowl. Real men.

Clemson can go to the Backyard Burger Flipping Bowl.

Go Tarheals!

If we still had Hooker at quarterback, I would agree with you. Bring on Ohio State; that would be an exciting and explosive matchup. As things now stand, I would prefer Clemson, given their own quarterback problems. An 11-2 Tennessee team, with a victory over Clemson in the Orange Bowl, would finish the season in the top 5. Given where we were at the beginning of the 2021 season, that outcome would signify extraordinary progress.

Spencer Sanders. Come on down.

Everyone in the world wants to see Clemson get destroyed.

This would make for huge TV.

They have a good D……but Tennessee has seen plenty of those.

Their passing O is 84th.

Keep running that mouth Dabo!!

Wonder what rank SC's passing O was before playing us?

Yes -- I hope we get Clemson in the Orange Bowl -- would be great -- and, let's just hope Heupel has our QB ready to play -- that will be the key to winning!

totally different teams with totally different types of QB’s.

Tennessee’s D laid down.

Clemson is run “heavy” and play D…….that’s just what they are. They run it about 100 times more than they pass.

SC is pretty much balanced.

Clemson could come out and pass all over the place…….however if that’s not who they are at all…….not sure it would work…..especially if their having QB issues.
