A lot has to do with the amount, obviously there's more three stars than 4 or 5 star kids. But, not every 4 and 5 star kid pans out and makes it to the NFL. So it's not as simple as that. Recruits get overrated and underrated all the time. Just the way it is. 3 stars are gambles because they vary a lot, some are downright average and some can be great. But funny enough, the same logic can be applied to 4 and 5 stars, but there's just less of them.
